I have never seen anyone unhappy with their lever action 3030. They are accurate and reliable.

Nice review. Agreed great rifle to use in the bush. The old thirty thirty had taken a few. My biggest buck was taken with an open sight rifle like that. Thanks for sharing.

I have the Marlin 336C in 30-30 that I paid $140 for back in 1979 and it has taken numerous deer as far out as 150 yards. I've never seen a wounded animal walk away from it. I've always shot 150 grain Remington Core Lokt. And I agree with buying guns made in the USA. The only guns I have that are not American made are a Browning A bolt in 270, a Benelli 12 gauge turkey gun, and an M9 Beretta.

@@KennyReviews1 if you can find one, you should do a review on a Marlin model 925 22 magnum. That's a bad little feller. With a good scope and a shooter who can hold it steady, it'll knock a squirrel out of a black gum tree at 75 yards with no problem

My dad recently gave me his 3030 marlin he’s had since his teenage years he got it when he was 18 he’s now 53 and it still looks brand new and splits quarters at 100 yards I love the gun and will never switch or buy another deer rifle

Marlin 3030 is not the only way to go in the bush, but it is one of the best ways. I bought mine new and had it for 32 years and keep it like new and it’s such a maneuverable little pop gun. It takes care of the deer out to 200 yards. It even works on moose but never take a shot at such an animal over 100 yards preferably 75 yards or closer the better, just my opinion. If you are an accomplished, marksman, elk and moose are usually no problem as long as you keep the shots reasonable, and smaller deer like Whitetail and Mule deer are a lot easier to knock over than elk or moose. Most animals are shot 200 yards and under anyway. There are guys that go into the woods with a 300 magnum and shoot deer under 50 yards, all I have to say is WHY? Yes, a sledgehammer will kill a fly, but so will a flyswatter just as dead. Why carry around a clunky sledgehammer to kill flies when it’s so much better and easier to use the fly swatter, get my drift here. A bazooka will kill a human, but you don’t need a bazooka to do it. As a matter fact, there won’t be much left except bits and pieces.🤪 In my opinion, the Marlin in 30-30 Win. lever action is perfect. gun for woods deer.

@@KennyReviews1 Well, Kenny, I would’ve taken you up on that but these days at my age and I’m handicapped with bad legs and not stable on my legs like I once was but thanks for the offer. The best I can do these days is get parked in the woods and unfold my chair and set and wait for something to come by and even at that I can’t bend down anymore to dress a deer and haul it out on my own, get one for me willya. 👍

Kenny, I went looking just now for some content on the new Ruger built Marlins & clicked on yours. Just wanted to salute your off the cuff, genuine praise for what I wholeheartedly agree is a near perfect rifle, a Marlin 336 in 30-30. I bought a 1952 vintage 336 from Cabela’s for $285 in 2008. It wears a Lyman peep site & a Murray Leather stock mounted cartridge holder. Of all my guns, this one remains the most satisfying to shoot, & I’m a shooter, like you for the joy of it. I’ve hunted in all kind of terrain & would trust my 30-30 to any reasonable range on any game I can see. When not using good old Remington 150gr Core Lokt, I use Barnes TSX bullets. They clobber deer & hogs like they were pole axed. We’re kindred spirits with our zeal for such simple beauty & it feels like we’re standing by the tailgate of a truck just gabbing away about the undeniable virtues that will always belong to a well built American made 30-30

I just bought a Marlin 336W with a scope and sling , with not a scratch on it. Looks brand new. Paid 327 for it. I'm not a hunter but it will go with my Lever 22 and 22WMR. Hello from Lubbock Texas. Im a 30-30 guy myself, and I agree wholeheartedly with your assessment of the rifle. Too many people are being misled by the myth that it's not an effective gun. There's NO better option for deer if you are hunting in the brush..period.

Nice Rifle my friend, I have the 30-30 Marlin as well, inherited from my Dad a few yrs ago. I have only hunted with it once (brother had it for years.) It is accurate at 200 yards...Bullseye without a scope! Unfortunately I only have access to public land here in Mo so I don't get out hunting as much as I'd like anymore. Hopefully we can p/u a some land soon. God Bless!

i hear ya my friend, if one takes good care of these 3030 rifles they will last a life time, as well as our grandkids my son when he was 16 he shot his first deer with it. he was a happy camper accurate is the WORD, ive gotta build my self a dear turkey blind soon im same way dont get to go hunting as much as i want too, spring will be here before we know it, talk later bud god bless,

Hi Kenny your videos are great Really enjoy all of them! To me the 30-30 is the best deer rifle ever made ! I've got 243, 308, 30.06 all great rifles .But the 30-30 to me is my favorite. Hunting in the Bush and swamps that's all you need or like your 1200 Winchester pump shotgun or 1100 ,870 Remington with buckshot and slugs ,Hunting like me and you that's all you need to take your deer. These guns has put meat in the freezer and on the table for many years! 🦌
