Beautiful music. Excellent performance. Portions evocative of Miles' "cool" and "romantic" periods from the 60's.
Listen to this piece 3 or 4 times... This is a work of real beauty. The combination of Flugelhorn & 12 Celli is original and unique. The playing is top quality and the Composition itself is elegantly proportioned.

Il y a dans cette musique une forte empreinte de ce qui est profond et simple . Nous découvrons le miracle de l'évidence . Pas de coup d'éclat mais de la sobriété qui développe peu , mais infiniment plus . Cette "miniatur einer seelenreise" donne des lettres de noblesse à la musique contemporaine classique qui sent désormais trop le fabriqué , concée qu'elle est dans le parti pris crispé de l'expérimentation systématique .....Ingres le très fameux peintre disait :" le dessin est la probité de la peinture " et "moi ", je dit , " la mélodie qui exprime la joie , le pathétique justifie et vérifie l'harmonie qui amplifie et aboutit à une interprétation de la part de l'instrumentiste pleine de caractère ....

Quite an enjoyable piece, I revisit it regularly. On an unrelated note, 2:35 sounds a lot like when the storm clears at the beginning of the second section of Rush's Jacob's Ladder (see kzread.info/dash/bejne/rGeb2LGPZJPJk7g.html )
