Gopal - quant funds have been known to give uncorrelated alpha to discretionary funds. Hence these are good for diversification of your portfolio.
Q: what edge will I get if I go with the Gulak smallcap portfolio over any other quant mutual fund e.g. Quant Quantamental Fund?

Higher than 0.50 % Expense Ratio seems huge and found uncomfortable. Secondly, funds having comparatively large AUMs may have smaller expense ratio. Ultimately it dents genuine earning of smaller investors. God save them only.

Usually your videos are very good- Quant has been around for long and also has some spectacular failures, best example is LTCM. Darvas and turtle trader have proved that novices can also make outsized returns so long as they follow some rules consistently. Btw Warren buffet is one of the largest option trader . Keep up the good work…..Cheers

one thing that worries me about high churn smallcases is that at the end of year I am paying 15% tax as STCG, so if a MF is giving 5% less returns than a smallcase in long term then its same as a smallcase..so this 6% alpha target on a long term is overall 1% alpha as you are paying STCG..what about this?

पता नहीं जिस स्टॉक में quant वाले एंट्री करते हैं वही भागने लग जाता है। जैसे ही अपनी इन्वेस्ट को बदलते है वह थम जाता है। इतना टेक्निकल अप्प्रोच निर्मित करना कई गुना टेक्निकल प्रक्रिया से ही सम्भव है।

this is long only. Unfortunately long-short can be implemented only using futures, which makes the min. investment size very large.

In spite of these talk you just tell the retail investors.... INVEST IN MUTUAL FUNDS EVERY MONTH NOT IN STOCKS.
Bashing retail investors for not beating Index returns, can he comment how many Investment Managers have been able to beat Index funds consistently. More than 95% fail be it retail or professionals. Index is way better
"Retail investors should not go into individual stock investing". My God! This is purely a promotional video!!! Vivek Sharma is saying that 2% to 3% expense ratio is OKAY!!!!! Wow. A shame that among all other useful Market ki baat videos, this one is the most useless of all.

Watching all these episodes, I have understood that index fund is best and evergreen, everything else is bullshit b/c sometimes it may work or it may not. Better compounding happens if we don't disturb it
