Ойын-сауық

Saxophonist Mark Turner's responses to Facebook Fan submitted questions.
1. "When a player gets stuck in a routine; what things can you suggest to help them break through and open their playing up to new ideas?"
2. What is your method/approach to composition?
3. "What was it like playing and growing with Rosenwinkel? You two sound like brothers playing. It's a beautiful thing. I'm still inspired every time I hear you together."

I heard you play your approach about building a solo in the video where you play with Joshua Redman at the JAzz Club in Vincentia in Italy where you played stablemates. Great solo!

I agree with Trumpet Boss. The academic musician killed Jazz. Then government budgets killed music in schools/academia.
