Mark Price was seriously underrated. He would devastate you with his free throw percentage, the guy rarely missed. He should be in the HOF.

The most underrated thing and something many people don't know about was his FT% in the playoffs, which was 94.4%! That's insane!

He's absolutely HOF worthy.... Highly skilled and productive playing against some stacked teams without a fellow HOFer playing with him. Compared to some of the guys nowadays that they call HOFers, definitely he should be in.

He wasn't underrated in the early 90's. He was an All Star and Dream Teamer on some good Cavs teams back then. Everyone knew who he was. He was one of the better players back then. He was probably underrated now because kids don't watch or understand basketball like they used to.

@@briancarter2847 Mark Price was not underrated either when he was playing. He was easily a top 3 pg in the league for 3-4 years. The teams small market didn't help, but Price is one of the guys that were a big deal then, but seem to be forgotten now. He was not underrated then though. People forget that he was in the conversation for Mvp one year in 1992. Ranking number 7 in the list. DJ is underrated because like many greats of the 70s seem to be forgotten. He came in when the league was still a dysfunctional mess with economy and drug problems. He was a forgotten soul In the celtics and never got as much credit there cause of the hall of fame players in those teams. Like you said, kids today don't know about the game to know either of these guys. But I would say DJ is far more underrated considering how damn good he was. But Price is up there too.

@MrBrenman21 No, Price is a great player but DJ was a far better player. Price is attractive to the modern day fan cause his game was ahead of its time. Small ball, ball handling, 3pt and overall outside shooting, split of pick and Roll. But I would take DJ over Price, DJ was bigger and stronger. And is one of the greatest defensive guards ever. Better leader, and a far more clutch player. Bird one said DJ was the greatest player he ever played with. As he got older he changed it to "greatest teammate he ever played with. For a great player like Bird to say that means he had a high Regard for his game. Price was a great PG, but I would take DJ over him

He was so fantastic. Greatest Cavalier not named LBJ ever.

Before his knee injury he was a cold blooded killer from deep as well as a great assist man. Even after, he was very good because of guile. I think one more All Star year would have had him in the HOF. I mention his name nowadays and nobody remembers. The Jordan gang eclipsed those great Cavs teams.

One of the best of all time. He doesn’t get nearly the amount of attention he deserves because he’s short and not a glamorous dunker…he was so much more and humble to boot. Overall, he’s a HoF level player, very technical, smart and just an all around great person. I hope he lives forever.

This is the most eloquent explaination on why shooting a basketball is a necessary skill.

I remember when the 3 pointer was a tool that was used by players at a lower rate compared to nowadays where the majority of players are treating it like it is the whole point to the game. I know the game changes and that can be good ! The Golden State Warriors have for the most part used it most effectively and have obviously had success. But somewhat lost is the midrange jumper that is only worth a mere.... ( ONE POINT LESS ! ) and if teams would rediscover that and keep the 3 pointer for when its needed or like the Warriors, pile it on when the shooter is hot or defense is wearing down then its good for the game ! Michael Jordan used that mid range jumper or floater in the lane so many times, especially in the late quarters of the Finals when everyone is worn down and it really adds up compared to teams trying to come back throwing low % desparate bombs from downtown !!! ( bad basketball !!! )

My favorite player of all time, so I'm probably biased. I still think that he didn't shoot enough on those CAVS teams...It always seemed like Ehlo took more shots even though Price was like 50% from the field, 90% from line...Ridiculous. Definitely Curry before Curry. Thanks for the video.

He was great at splitting the pick and roll and coming down for the pull up three. Jerry West talked about the last dribble before shooting where you would dribble it hard into the floor, and it would help you get up on your shot. It works as I used it on my shot.

This guy right here one of the most skilled point guards of all time.

NO better shooter than this guy, Mark Price. Curry (maybe Bird) may make more off balance, more difficult shots. But pure jump shooting? None better than Mark. In any era. West and Walter Davis are right there, too.

Shit...I am 6'2''...i tried years to shoot- it is useless! You have to be a shooter born to shoot. You cant learn it. It is inborn thing. Like me...I was inborn jumper. At age of 10 I was jumping a lot of better than friends...a lot. 4-5 inches in reach. At 18 dunking for me was easy as....but as many as tried - I could not shoot. Whatewer I tried

You absolutely CAN learn it my friend. It takes thousands of repetitions for some people, but as with all things, muscle memory can and will be built with time. Just like dribbling, just like throwing, even playing an instrument! Your body is capable of anything you put enough time into
