My father was a physics Professor at the university level. He was also a Christian who believed in God and Jesus. He always said, as an actual scientist, one thing he knew for sure is that humans cannot know everything, and that there is something greater than us.

Please not. Religion is a very personal thing and should not be broadcasted in any form of political support. Look at Israel, Iran, Turkey and other states what happened to them when religion is the main focus even of politics and policies. We live in a world where 99% of people feel no shame supporting all the perverts and monsters in the lie that marriage and gender were "redefined" so it's not like you can take what 99% of people at their word, just at face value! He said he came to seek and save that which was lost (Luke 19:10), to call sinners to repentance (Luke 5:32), and to give His life I ransom for many (Matthew 20:28). When he said he came to deliver the poor he was referring to the poor in spirit: “Blessed are the poor in spirit”. It does you no good to just know the words of the Bible you have to actually know the context. It takes actual study, which apparently you have not done.
