Love Tokyo story with a passion. Ozu is the greatest. Long May his films live.

@aclark903 I've seen 19 Kurosawa movies, and while there's no doubt he's a master of cinema, I like Ozu better. They are both great directors, but stylistically different and it's completely stupid to compare them just because they're both Japanese. It's like comparing Chaplin and Hitchcock just because they're both English who made American movies. It's stupid!
Perhaps the most universal film of all time.
Just came from the cinema. Loved it with all my heart.
A beautiful film as close to perfect as there is.
Ozu's films are so beauiful.
Truly a masterpiece. One of my favourites
Without a doubt, one of the single greatest films in the history of cinema.
you nailed it ..Ozu was genius .. so sad little filmmakers understand his gift

It's not sad. It helps you to appreciate other films more. You may need bad movies to appreciate good movies.
Yes, truly great
YES, Utterly Classic!!
Tokyo Story is a masterpiece
I need to see this film!!!
Late Spring and Tokyo Story are not sequels, but its almost like Late Spring follows on from Tokyo Story.
His birthday today.
A sad film which ultimately disappointed me

I liked Late Spring,Children of the Beehive and Ikiru better...
A worthy remake of Make Way for Tomorrow and a masterpiece in its own right. So moving. Ozu is one of the top 5 directors, in my opinion, of all time.
