Mark Hall's Record 6th MN State Championship

Спорт

With his teammates (present and former), family, fans, and PSU coach Cael Sanderson in attendance at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Apple Valley's Mark Hall defeated Hasting's Austin Eichmann by tech fall (2:50, 16-1) in the 170lb Class AAA final to become the first MN wrestler ever to win 6 state individual titles.
Along with 6 team titles, Hall also sets a record by capturing a staggering total of 12 MN state championships.
Hall received a standing ovation from the crowd. He humbly acknowledged the crowd, then proceeded to climb into the stands to share the historic moment with friends and family.

Jake Andrews and he looked so calm and relaxed the whole time too. Sadly, in college he is at a weight class where he is a bit too weak and in my opinion needs to drop down one weight

Kort Latimore even though he is an elite wrestler at the collegiate level, his potential to become way better is still there, I’m sure he works his ass off but if we were to see him a weight class down, he would be outclassing any wrestler he could possibly imagine coming across, that’s just opinion but I believe he could debatably be the pound for pound #1 in the world

only like 2 states allow 7th and 8th graders to compete. Tons of people earn 4 which is the most they are allowed to earn and the lightest weight classes don't really have many seniors so they are kind of friendly to 7th and 8th grade competitors. At HS Sr nationals 103 had 16 competitors vs 171 had almost 90. Not many seniors weigh 103/106 so it's an easier weight class normally because the competitors tend to be younger. Lots of people win 6 titles while in HS if you include freestyle and greco titles, a wrestler can earn 15 state titles in 4 years and 23 in 6.. 4 titles per year (freestyle, kids, greco, and standard high school every year for 6 years (you can't wrestle kids your st year in most states that's why you can't get 24. I'm sure no one has won all 23.

Not in CA, either. We have had about 3 4x champs ever, and of course he just faced a CA state champ this year at Nationals.

#1 wrestler in the nation P4P. 6-Time MN state champ. Has defeated NCAA runner-up Jason nolf several times. He beat Anthony Valencia 10-2.He pinned nationally ranked 182 pounder Lucas Jeske in under 2 minutes. And his senior year he got techs/pins in all matches but 1... He's THAT good and will probably win multiple NCAA titles. Eichmann is amazing but it doesn't matter, Hall is a once in a generation type wrestler.
