WHO DARES WINS! I'm disgusted by how he was treated by the Establishment. He dared, he won.

These guys get no publicity, no medals and work in the shadows. We might owe our lives to them, we just don't know. Everything about the SAS and SBS is secret, It has to be that way. As far as I am concerned he made the right choice. Mistakes have been made before in the special forces but it's OK for the higher ups to make them. Craig saved many lives and he is a hero and should be treated so.

Cristian was awarded the CGC / Conspicuous Gallantry cross from the Queen the uks second highest military award here for his actions in Kenya. He is one of the most decarated soldiers he has like 14 medals.

Chris is right about the attitude of our so called higher ups, both in the government and military. They have a mindset that is killing our country.

This bloke is a legit as trained killer walking planet earth as there is. The training is a 6 month hell to most individuals. The SAS is a top tier special forces as it gets. You don’t just walk in and sign up you have to be top level military just to get accepted for selection, they spend 6 weeks hiking through the snow capped Welsh mountains, 6 weeks in Brunei jungle, escape and invasion, capture and interrogation. 200 start and maybe 5 finish then spend a year seeing if your up to the grade. If those government officials had there family in that hotel a member of the SAS that coincidentally happened to be in the area is the first bloke you would want on the scene to help. Christian makes me proud to be British. We’re very lucky to have blokes like this around.

I seriously doubt if any Brit would be surprised at the way our Establishment treated a hero like Chris as that is exactly the contempt they treat the general public..Over the last two decades, the Civil Service and our politicians have brought our Country to its knees by a mix of total incompetence and arrogance. As regards the Military those serving and fighting are respected at all ranks up to the senior NCO (non-commissioned Officer) and perhaps also the hard-working junior officer ranks. However, not much respect or interest in the top dogs who have generally lost any testosterone they may have had and are just political animals. Chris made the mistake of meeting POTUS and the other Senior Officials without anyone from the Establishment being present to hold his hand and get some reflected glory for themselves. How could a common soldier, or "scum" in the words of the Duke of Wellington about his troops be allowed to represent the UK. ???? The answer is he Dared and Won. Our next war must be against this Nation's greatest enemy the so-called Establishment Blob and hope the SAS is on our side..

No matter what we are called and how we were treated, we serve our country and that's just a soldiers oath we all swore. It's not the government we serve but the people the monarch and their successors. Governments change but we don't. The guy is a hero

History never changes, the idea of recognising individuals in the military goes back years. The idea of giving medals to non commissioned personnel was something that Queen Victoria overridden to instigate the VC. Very few military say what they do, or did. The SAS was forgotten about, post WW2, it was disbanded and reformed. It was only the Libian Embassy seige that reminded us of their existence. It seems to be part of our culture. After a good passage of time, talk about it. Having met a few folks who served in conflicts, they don't share their experiences with general public, a conversation for their contemporaries.

The VC was actually the idea of Prince Albert, he thought it appalling that the ordinary soldier was not recognised for valour. Also it was the Iranian embassy. Fully support your opinions though.

It makes sense for Shawn Ryan to feature special forces interviewees as he's ex special forces himself and can relate to the better than an interviewer without the real life experience.

Christian IMO is the epitome of everything the SAS stands for , some overrated general with backache from wearing too many medals who's probably never been near a battlefield ,and a spineless MP who cares more about image has the final dictat and say , we see too often people getting called heroes who are anything but and get recognition and rewards and its about time the antiquated pompous hierarchy of the UK establishment changes & rectify this.

These are brave brave men we are talking about, but we have to remember that the US is another nation wich has no right to interfer with British Goverment business. The Americans would never stand for this if it was the other way around. All; countries act in self interest and I would rather follow Churchils line of thought when he said these great overseas powers are not our friends just allies, sometimes.

I feel for this guy, he put his whole life on the line and some snides in high places worry about their arses. iT GIVES VERY LITTLE COMFORT FOR ALL OUR GUYS IN SPECIAL SERVICES, TO THINK THEIR LIVES ARE PROTECTING THAT KIND OF SCUM. TO THINK THAT IT WAS ANOTHER COUNTRY THAT THANKED HIM AND NOT HIS OWN COUNTRY.

Mark, there is something more to this story than is being told. I don’t know what he’s done but it’s really p*ssed someone off. The book “Bravo two zero” by former sas operator Andy McNab doesn’t exactly paint the sas in a good light(the mission was a complete disaster) but it was allowed to be published. There is more to this story. 👍

He lived up to the SAS motto. He should know that a majority of the people who know what he did (and I presume the people he helped saved) are grateful to him and think he is an amazing hero. He is not a bad example and those people who think he is a 'rogue soldier' should be thankful that there are people who when seeing other people in trouble will go in and help. When that incident happened he hadnt got time to ask for permission (which could take far too much time) he knew he had to act. And I do think you might be right - it was probably something to do with the fact it was Trump. Someone obviously had a pencil up their arse. The more I listen I think it was snobbery. Here is a working class lad from a single parent family on a council estate and he meets all those top American officials without getting permission - I bet it put the noses of those snobs in the establishment out of joint. Good for him :)

It's ridiculous that these elite forces who were always valued for their ability to think and function alone are treated so badly when they do. The only part I can understand is the whole breach of protocol thing with the White House. That would go for any other power.

Made a similar decision myself in my job ( not quite the same ) got shafted by management, but the job got done and it won't happen again for a long time, now the management are being investigated, figure that. The incident in Liberia is a good one, Royal Marines go in to evacuate Europeans but the Commander turns around a says to the Government you know what I'm going to take the whole country over from this rabble and he did and the government had no choice.

SAS isnt like your special forces, they operate in secrecy. Note there is almost no SAS or SBS guys that go on these type of podcasts, its very frowned upon. Meanwhile there are loads of SEALs and Delta guys on them. He is absolutely a hero, as are all of 22, but the form is not to publicise missions or yourself. I can see where the brass are coming from blocking the book.

I imagine secret service were thinking oh shit! So we with no notice whatsoever have to take a trained killer to meet the president. They haven't had any time to check him out or anything. They might know who he is, but they won't have any intelligence on him besides his name and what he did in Kenya. That would make me nervous about the welfare of my principal. It's an unknown and I imagine the secret service don't like to deal in unknowns. 😂

Just to give some context. There’s something in the uk called the official secrets act. I very much admire Chris and think what he did was great as I have spent a lot of time in Kenya HOWEVER I do think it’s a little disingenuous to not mention this UK price of legislation. Every ex and current serviceman is by law obligated to follow the official secrets act. That is why he wasn’t allowed to publish the book, not because the government were out to get him in some conspiracy.
