On my 65th birthday and the first day of retirement, I met John Conlee in Hendersonville TN (Nov 2018). We were the only customers in the store. As I walked towards him I kept thinking "I know this man!" Getting closer we exchanged greetings as men our age do. I kept shopping and trying to place his face. Then it dawned on me, "John Conlee, saw him in concert Omaha in the 80's". As I turned the corner to get cat food there he was looking at me. "You know," I said, "you sure look like John Conlee". Well, he looked down, up, and then at me and smiled "That's because I am John Conlee". I'm not the crazy fan type. I told him how much I loved his music, and he said thank you and we shook hands. No autograph or selfie, and I think he appreciated that I recognized him and didn't want all the hoopla. That made my birthday and retirement so special. He's always been the gentleman. He lives in the area.

I don't even know why a Steel Guitar matters, but I have a Theory, I guess the New Country with Electric Guitars, seems like it Drowns out the Lyrics, I can't hear, as well at 54, 55 this month, but I know it isn't just me . I Hate New Country Music, Like I Hate Soccer ! New Country Music, is Like some Rap, and Hip-hop, with no real Country. I think Old Country was taken out on purpose, it is sort of like a Murder, like those Great Philosophers George Strait, and Alan Jackson once said. 🙏

I'll always remember picking up my son from his mom's when he was 5 years old. This is one of my all time favorite country songs. It was playing when he got in the car. He's sitting in the back and when the chorus starts. My son begins to sing along. "It's too hot to fish. Too hot for golf and too cold at home" Always brings a smile to my face thinking about that moment. Glad he still listens to this music now that he's 17 and been living with me going on 7 years.

This guy has the best, most beautiful, country voice, ever! Never sang a bad song! I’ve listened to them all over and over again! Cannot fault him! Come to the mainstream Mark! We love you!! XX🥰🥰🥰

Funny how songs can get locked in with certain memories. If not for songs so many of our memories would disappear. I'm 65 yo and have Parkinsons. I'm so thankful the songs are helping me to hang on.
