Mariya has such a natural understated beauty. But she is very beautiful and natural even if her beauty is not overwhelming like Yulia or Yaroslavas beauty is. Mariya is also the best ladies high jumper in many years and I’m very sorry she did not get a chance at the peak of her career to win the Olympic gold this year because of COVID-19. I fear for her as they’re going to cancel the Olympics next year but I think they should have the Olympics even without fans. It’s supposed to be about these great athletes after all.

Hopefully 2021 is a normal year, I'm very sad because diamond leagues, tennis and obviously Olympics are really important to me, I was ready getting ready for an amazing Olimpics and in my mind I still can’t believe whats happening.

It is entirely up to her on what heights she (in consultation with her coach) wishes to skip during the competition.

Потому, что на этом турнире, действительно, соревнуются мужчины с женщинами. В России придумали такой формат. А для того, чтобы уровнять возможности, результаты женщин умножают на определённый коэффициент.

She is very unfortunate, she has missed Olympic GOLD Medal, her peek will not be last on next year. She isn't able to jump 206cm at outside. Time is up.

There is a big gap between her and the rest of world. I think there are only 1 or 2 other ladies ever jump 2m. Unless Anna Chicherova comes out of retirement, no one can take the gold from her.

@@qidongxu7339 Don't look back Mariya because 18-year-old Yaroslava Mahuchikh might be gaining on you. The Ukrainian tied Mariya at the World Championships in Doha by jumping 204 cm (Mariya won gold with fewer misses) and set a world u-20 record.

Never underestimate the heart of a champion. Yes, the extra year isn't in her favor as her young challengers have an additional year to grow their skills. But, there is hope that she can follow in the footsteps of her countrywoman Anna Chicherova who is still competing at an elite level at age 37.

@@siberiantiger3917 I noticed that if the other ladies didn't do well, Mariya may just jump about 2m or even lower. Only when someone's pushing her, she will jump to 2.4 or even 2.6m. Hopefully if Yaroslava does well in Tokyo, they may push each other to break the world record.

The problem Mariya has is she’s pushing 30 and Yaroslava is pushing only 20. She is a baby high jumper and it’s only a matter of time before she runs Mariya down. But that sports and that’s life. I feel sorry for Mariya because she’s from a country that’s been banned from one Olympics and may be banned from another for nothing she has done. Putin’s PED czars have set Russian sports back for decades. It’s a wonder a great athlete like an Mariya even represents Russia anymore. They don’t deserve this super slender superwoman.
