Mariya was just given permission hours ago by World Athletics to compete in international track and field events as a neutral this year while Russia still remains suspended. The decision comes in time for Lasitskene to defend her world indoor championship title in Belgrade, Serbia, next month. Clearly something has been bothering Masha and Im not making this comment as an excuse but what a roller coaster this woman rides just to be able to compete as well as all the added pressure put on her to preform at the highest level ... few could even imagine let alone endure and so, Kudos to Mariya for holding fast!!! With this situation now behind her I for one wish this spirited athlete the very best in 2022 and am hoping to see her back on top again very soon where she deservedly belongs ......

That’s great news. Yes she has been missed. Athlete’s at this level are rare not to mention she a beauty

Hard to believe the Queen didn't even place ... This was a bitter pill for Masha to swallow and you can bet that it lit a fire in her and may be exactly what she needed to get back in the fold! Watch out for that dark stare of hers .. no quarter will be given going forward!

The season is young and many of them are out of synch. Both Patterson and Borthwick have been impressive early on. And good to see Vukovic and Demereva jumping well.

Here's an unfortunate reality of sport. Sport is a reflection of real life and the people participating it are inevitably caught up in the political and socio-economical struggle around them. Lasitskene has very little chance of success going forward in my opinion, and that's despite her talent and hard work. The reality is she will face ever increasing difficulties in public perception because she's Russian. Mahuchikh on the other hand is younger, prettier, and Ukranian, so naturally most of the public will cheer for her and present her with more opportunities to train, compete and obtain sponsorship. It's just the world we live in.

А с чего это вы решили, что Могучих красивее Ласицкене? Это всего лишь ваше личное мнение. Я считаю, что Мария красивее и эффектнее Ярославы. А вообще, как говорят умные люди, на вкус и цвет товарищей нет. Оценка красоты - это субъективное мнение.

Её международной карьере препятствует не Путин, а Томас Бах и Себастьян Коу, хотя должности, которые они занимают, обязывают их действовать совсем по-другому, то есть во благо мирового спорта. В мире возникает много конфликтов, но от международных соревнований отстранили только российских спортсменов. Явный политический заказ. А Коу даже после рекомендации МОК отказывается допускать российских спортсменов на соревнования. Он ярый русофоб. Ему не место во главе ИААФ, а ему пророчат должность главы МОК?!?!?!
