I still don't get why the sequels aren't like this. This is the best Mario game ever released imo and shouldn't have been turned into some weird path layout puzzle crap. I hope the next one they make is like this.

They aren’t that crap, lmao As much as this game had some fun mechanics, the sequels did better with its style imo, being able to focus on puzzles rather than platforming.

Give Mario credit for not blowing a fuse at Donkey Kong for all the crazy stuff he went through for a toy he couldn't just ask for

I believe in detail, the damage of the mech was so powerful that DK got electrocuted in his cockpit before it self-destructed and blasted him out.

BEST GAME OF MY CHILDHOOD

I love this game. It combines puzzles & platforming into one fun & challenging adventure. Though the requirement for the star from boss levels gives me a bit of a trouble.

Those “cutscenes” are impressive even if they are less than a frame per second.

No. They're just still images...You want to see cool gba stuff? Look for Iridion II and Asterix & Obelix XXL.

Doesn't matter if dk is going ape crazy to stop him from getting the mini Marios back, mario will wanna make sure he stays safe (remember the part with the toads? He asked if he was ok) and he will even give him a mini mario because he was upset, nice guy mario

while every other boss theme is more bouncy, the final boss is more rock focused.

i can only imaging what Donkey Kong’s doctor told him the next day: Fighting Mario is bad for your health.

Damn man, this game is mad old. I remember when it come out, in the Summer of 2004, IIRC.

this game is so nostalgic for me. I played it all the time when I was young.

Ahh, I remember playing this game many years ago. Those were the good old days.

I can imagine Dixie Kong in this game as DK's helper! She basically can taunt Mario in the chasing scenes and being happy with him at the final scene

I never knew Mario to be so talkative.

I tried already. I just didn't know how I could manage it to spawn one person up and one down. If you die you spawn automatically at the highest point. And Donkey Kong of course doesn't have anything to throw down, but I have an Idea, maybe I could just let some Items spawn that DK could throw down.
