I have seen where there is a 290hp tune for the B48 and they say nothing else is needed. I worry in doing that due to everything I know when more pressure is added thr temperature of the plugs being used needs to drop to avoid detention. In tou 295 tune did you have to swap out to clloer plugs?

@@lang1031 Hey, So on my car I've used the GP3 spec plugs and gapped them accordingly. I'll go and have a look for the plug code and the plug gap that I run and get back to you

@@F56_Marc Sweet. I would think if you get OEM plugs for a GP3 from BMW you should not have to gap them that should come preset. I do like the idea of running GP3 plugs however it should be a colder ugly with all of the extra boost it would be running. Good thought.

400hp B48, the xdrive BMW guys and gals will be interested although not sure the gearbox is up to this type of power

Yeah the stock Manual Trans can’t handle that torque… the build seems super off. Just seems like a tune on a stock car. It’s also way too quiet

@@JaredNotFromSubway there is talk of a b48 + electric high performance car but again assuming 400hp is obtained in the f40 BMW that transmission is its current form the weak link

What are the exact specs on those wheels? I'd love to know the offset.

How is that mini holding UP? Is yours 6spd? I took stock motor low 3s HP. Will like to push 4s, but it is a daily. What MODs you have?

I meet a guy today that claims to be running 397hp on stock f56. I tried telling him it's just not possible. The pistons alone can't handle it. Nothing would convince him differently.

The GP3 is a weapon at 308 bhp but is reliable and will last . This motor running 400bhp will be in+out for repairs too much power in my opinion but probably a hoot to drive.

Nah the gearbox and driveshafts will give up first or even the clutch if the engine is forged its practically bullet proof at that power

''its kind of the pefect power really'' are you mental thats way to much power for day to day!! my jcw with a lsd onit running 300ish is an absolute weapon!! and anything more would be a complete waste on british roads!. id actually go so far to say mine would probs beat it in a race round the hills!! lols for the simple reason you will be battling the tourqe so much round thouse tight bends every time you tried to let the power out you would loose traction as those 550nm tried sending you through a wall hahhaha

It blew up at 290bhp? The M135i B48 runs more power than that.. does the M135i version of the B48 have stronger internals perhaps ?

2 engine code the S runs A the BMW JCW is B with is lower compression they suffer with LSIP with is Shame as there the same rods and pistons as the 140I b58

LSPI* Low speed pre ignition It’s like super knock when the piston is on the way up pre ignition happens with puts bad strain on the engine the first thing to go on the B48 is the ring lands they snap off forge should help this

This is a rocket ship but all the B48’s in these MINI’s blow up, I haven’t heard anything from the F30 B48. Power to weight is nuts for sure.

The only reasons why the B48s blow up is because they install shitty tunes on them, or tuners are inexperienced with them

What b48 engines have blown? If there even are any, I'd love to know why - my money's on a bad tune on an un-built car. The JCW variant can handle 300hp with pretty minimal mods, I'm not surprised fully forged it's pushing 400 no prob.

Car seems a little too quiet… seems off to me…. And doesn’t look like “a ton” of work…

Wdym, it's just upgrades to turbo, bigger intercooler and fuel injectors. None of this will break or wear out, it's designed to handle 400hp. Some stock Minis like the GP3 which has the same 2.0T engine are 300hp off the lot

how unreliable it will be, that engine wasn’t meant to go past 300ps for daily. 400ps id guess it will cut the lifespan to 30k miles or so. Engines goes for 3.5k.
