When I saw the 2 costumes, I was expecting to unlock more later on (basically him having his own version of equipping various sparks) Was a bit surprised when that never came to pass

@@OriginalGameteer it kinda makes sense that there are only 2 though. The costumes are replacing the sparks slots, and since there are only 2 spark slots, adding more slots to add more costumes would have taken a lot more time and resources towards a character exclusive to a single dlc campaign.

I think the funniest/most tragic aspect about Rayman and the Rabbids is that Rayman has ALWAYS been more popular and sold more copies (heck, I think the best selling Rabbids games has Rayman in the title front and center lol). Ubisoft literally just replaced Rayman with the Rabbids because they felt like it 😑

The crazy thing about the diss track is that he was replace by the rabbids, they were the main enemy for one of his games and killed him due to the marketable taking over the focus Ubisoft had for it

As a big Fan of Rayman i was very excited when this DLC was first announced. And excited further when we heard of various gameplay mechanics for Rayman himself. And then During my entire playthrough of the DLC i was constantly joyous whenever i spotted a unique reference. It's easily my favourite of the DLC's for either of the mario + rabbids games. I hope that Ubisoft will allow this Team to make a new Rayman game in the future. I reckon they can pull it off well.

That phantom diss track was so harsh, and kinda ironic since it’s basically coming from ubisoft who have pretty much forced Rayman away from the spotlight by not including him in anymore games or crossovers until now 😂😂

When you realize that the phantom’s main point of mockery is how Ubisoft essentially took what started out as a faction of his enemies in a party game spin off, and had them replace him almost entirely.

I hope rayman and mario actually get to meet each other whenever (if ever) another one comes out

if they give you a broken move, that's a sign the game's gonna be difficult

My favorite part of this DLC by far was just seeing how HARD Rayman was BALLIN with those guards

Still waiting on that unfulfilled promise of "See you in Rayman 4!" from my childhood.

@@scitails Some other games from that era with a similar style were the Tak and the Power of Juju games and an action platformer by name of Kya: Dark Lineage. Helps that Kya was made by a French studio, like Rayman.

I just love that the "ferocious dragon" looks like the rayman legends dragons from the first world.

Choc you gotta give the Rayman games a try. They are some pretty fun platformers and I think you'd get a kick out of them. The only thing is though there isn't really any place to play the old ones Rayman 1,2, and 3 so you'd have to dig around for alternatives on playing them. The best you could do however is play Rayman Origins & Legends (both are Multiplayer as well, Local though.)

The Vortex and Rocket costumes come from Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc. In fact those use changed versions of those that are in that game. The former suit is based on a early concept art while the latter has a rocket gun instead of having Rayman turn his hand into an actual rocket.

the costumes are based off of his appearance in Rayman 3, where he had Five different costumes that acted timed power-ups, the vortex and rocket ones are real but have been redesigned and reworked to fit the mechanics of this game, like in rayman 3, the rocket powerup would turn one of rayman's hands into a rocket which you usually had to then fire off and guide through a section to like push a button or something, meanwhile the vortex suit he'd throw a punch and a tornado would fly out, which can be used for combat or to lower platforms

Rayman 3 Hoodlum Havoc was always my favourite Rayman game and I always loved the first Rayman Raving Rabbids despite it's flaws so this DLC combining the two had me overjoyed. Not to mention adding one of the best parts of Kingdom Battle, this DLC was almost perfect.

I love the rabbids games so watching you play this is so awesome since I don’t have it yet.

It was fun watching this! I just hope rayman will continue to get the recognition he deserves

Very nice! I'm glad Rayman is back (even temporarily). It is a shame Michel Ancel (Rayman's creator) retired from game development as I am not sure how much Ubisoft actually cares about Rayman and his franchise. I still hope for a Rayman 4, but it becomes increasingly unlikely...though, hey, we got a Crash 4 and Pikmin 4, so who knows? Also, Choc bringing up Dynamite Headdy caught me off guard. That was a childhood favorite of mine and I didn't even know many others who had even heard about it. Potential Dynamite Headdy playthrough with Choc? Or even a Rayman 2 or 3 playthrough? 🤔

Glad he came back even tho I’m not the biggest fan of him. Love his gameplay and animations, felt it was easy cause of how powerful he is. The final battle with phantom is incredible. They definitely know and are aware how much people miss him with the references and the song by phantom. Ending is so wholesome too, love this game. ❤

Rayman is now dlc in his own goddamn series

Coming back to this is so fun, after Captain Laserhawk.

I love how game companies are coming together and being friendly, with Smash playing no small part in helping. I used to say that this is the closest we will ever get to a Rayman and Mario crossover, but seeing how Nintendo let Rayman wear a Mario hat and Mario hold a Rayman hoodie, I don't think this will be the last time Mario and Rayman will come together...

That sick burn for Rayman is a good sign of quirky humor and good writing might persist through the more cartoony part of ubisoft.

Rabbids Originated in the Rayman Games btw. At least they were supposed to. They were originally meant to be a dormant ancient dormant species that rose up outta nowhere and started causing havoc.

God, its so refreshing to see Rayman back in a console game, especially in a DLC. Ever since Rayman fell into the mobile gacha curse I wasn’t sure that there was any hope left for him, but its so great to see him back from where he originally started!

If you didn't notice, but phantom in the final phase is wearing his original decor.

The irony of the Phantom upstaging Rayman is that the Rabbids upstaged Rayman in his own game series.

Bringing back Tom Phan and his diss track operas was the best decision Ubisoft has ever made.

If you're wondering why Rayman has no limbs it's because when he was created they accidentally dropped a bag of lums on the way to the ritual to create him so he was born incomplete But that is just the rayman origins version In the original like the very first game on the playstation if I recall he was created by some dudes dream. If I recall rayman was meant to be a jester for his amusement and with his floating limbs would make him laugh. I only remember bits and pieces of his original origin story and when I looked for the info to refresh my memory I kept finding the origins version instead of the original

Really hope in Mario + Rabbids 3 they actually add Rayman as a full playable character, missed opportunity for him and Mario to not interact together.

17:30 I enjoyed both, but my favorite is still the DK one (also cuz it's in my favorite M+R game). It adds that novelty for an already built ground while not being too overwhelming. It's more of a second campaign in that point of view, rather than a DLC, that's how DK adventure is good. Non the less i dare wish for both characters & franchises to keep themselves on their legs, to than one day give the players & the fans what they love from them.
