I really love the name, “Sparks of Hope”; I think it has such a positive, hopeful tone. The new worlds and environments feel carefully crafted. The art style and obvious improvements in the tech are welcome. The gameplay seems to be more expansive, giving the player more real-time movement options during battles. Special thanks to the team and the director for exceeding fan expectations, at least for this reveal. I’d like to see gyro/pointer control options, if that makes sense, even motion controls, maybe to give extra physicality to battles, but that would have to be optional. Finally, look to the original Super Mario RPG to capture the feeling and essence of that beautiful world so many of us miss. This series is now the spiritual successor to that series in my eyes (Mario RPG that is).

Small thing, but I like how the playable rabbids have new VAs, instead of having the standard rabbid voice. We’ve seen little so far, but I feel it adds to their personalities. Also it is guaranteed a non-zero amount of people want that goth rabbid with the giant sword to step on them.

Kingdom battle was fun, challenging and absolutely hysterical. I like how they are focusing more on the main characters this time around, especially giving the rabbids somewhat unique voices.

The original was criminally underrated, I'm glad to see a sequel.

The levels seem more open and expansive, the gameplay seems a lot more chaotic, the game's chock full of charm and personality like before, and Grant Kirkhope's composing the soundtrack once more. Never in my life did I think this game would get a sequel, yet here we are. And I'm all for it.

@@crinklyonion1410 I'm also an unironic fan of the Rabbids. For awhile after Rabbids Go Home, the games haven't been as good or funny but once the Mario crossover happened, they've gone back on track and in an interesting direction too, not just with the concept but with the gameplay as well.

I'm not a big fan of rpg games and the trailer and gameplay made me looking reviews from the first one to buy it!

I’ve just now watched this and I’m surprised at how much they’ve changed for the better. I love that the battles are triggered by making contact with enemies, and the combat looks but more fluid.

Anyone else keep elite sniper luigi in your squad the whole game and saying "I've gota de shot brother" every time you fire?

Man, Mario + Rabbids wasn’t a one hit wonder after all.

I give the bosses of this game. 1. Tigero 2. Megabowserchicken 3. Blizzy, Sandy and Rabbid Flamo 4. Bwario and Mini Bwario(resembles a Hopper Rabbid) 5. The first Mario + Rabbids game was a surprisingly great game. A bright, fun turn based strategy game I wasn't expecting. I picked up the gold edition which included the Donkey Kong storyline DLC on a sale for like $15, still one of the better deals I've ever found on an eshop sale! I'm glad they got to make another game. I've still got a little ways to go to beat the full game and DLC...

Yup, looks awesome. Can't wait to play. The changes to the combat system seem really interesting, I can't wait to explore them more.

Is it crazy that when the first game was introduced we are all on the Fence about it. Then we actually played it and we liked it. Then the Donkey Kong DLC cane out and was great. Now we are getting a Sequel for 2022.... This is gonna be a good series and I'm all here for it

I am so glad this isn't just MORE mario and rabbids. They took kingdom battle, and made it ALMOST COMPLETELY DIFFERENT while still keeping it the same game ofc. It looks so imaginative. I loved the 1st game so I will pick this up day 1. Thank you ubisoft.

I like the shift to making the battles on a separate field. This will open up so much more room for world design.

I love that the playable Rabbid character voices are a mix of the rabbids and the characters

1:02 My favorite part is the Rabbid who’s a clear parody/homage of Cloud Strife. The humor that should be in every Mario RPG.

@@LLLLUCKY77 it owuld be a weeeeeeeeeeird decision to have her rabbid version and not the real deal when there's LUMAS EVERYWHERE (and even plushies) and EVERYTHING SEEMS TO BE IN SPACE Either she has been captured by the Bad Guy (tm) and will not be playable (;_;) or she'll be unlocked halfway through the game saving the heroes like peach with the ice golem. Or she won't be seen until the end ;_; Please God let me have her playable ;;__;;

oh my goodness, i'm about to cry. i love the first game so much and i haven't heard many people talk about it. i'm more than just happy to see a sequal. :D

Remembering the crossover also with Donkey Kong in the first game, I want to see the characters of Zelda and/or Rayman in the sequel. It would be fantastic!

They were unlikely expecting a sequel and might retcon her design because most people wouldn't even realise it.

I kind of love how they did the enemy encounters, its reminiscent of legend of the seven stars mario rpg, dragon quest, and nino kuni where enemies roam on the map and if they touch you it will take you into a separate combat sequence.

A step of from occasionally walking into an enemy fort in the previous game. Although some might prefer the former for giving the adventure some interconnected scope, it’s nice for them to improve on what works and trim down the fat of what does and makes it even better. The fact that they kinda souped up the Lumas from the Mario Galaxy games looks like one of these new improvements to the game!

this was the first game on my switch i played back in 2017 and its a good one

If it took 3+ years for the 1st game and it had all the content that it had then I cannot fathom how much there will be in this game

I love how the movement isn't grid-based anymore, as it makes the battles look and feel more fluid. Also, the new weapons look cool and will add more layers of strategy to the combat! Those bombs look like the ones from Super Mario Sunshine as well. On the other hand, I haven't seen Yoshi or Rabbid Yoshi anywhere, but I'm sure they'll return. Hopefully. Maybe DK too? I'm not sure.

I dont like that they took away the grid. This game genre is based on a grid system. Seems like they did it to make the game more accessible/easier for people. Mainly younger audiences. It's going to take away a lot of the skill and strategy of the first game.

I liked the baggy clothes better, but oh well. But to be honest he seems like a different character (to me) too, he has a boomerang instead of a yo-yo... maybe Rabbid Rosalina will be the new status effect dealer? (also, where is the real Rosalina? ;_;)

@@brotherrrr2 yeah, those are just excuses to give the games a plot, or a start. It it had a real meaning, there would had been more details about that girl, but since there wasn't any, she was just a story starter. Also it was an amazingly well made animation!

This looks amazing. Now I want to play the first game and get hyped for Sparks of Hope. Very nice~

I’ve been playing the Ultimate Challenges recently on the original game before this comes out. It’s my 2nd most played switch game (115 hours) after only Pokémon Let’s Go! (325 hours).

Looking at the gameplay mechanics in this game compared to Kingdom Battle’s, I’d say that this game is gonna give players much more free ranged movement while fighting enemies on the battlefield.

Rosalina will be the villain, being controlled by something. Screen cap this.

It’s just funny how Mario has strange duel weild laser pistol thingies like that guy (forgot name) from guardians of the galaxy AND both characters are gonna be portrayed by Chris Pratt in movie formate. Crazy.

Can't say I like the isolated battlefields. One of the parts I liked about the first was the big world that felt cohesive and treacherous, like one big adventure. When the touch of an enemy immediately boots you out some odd field floating in space, the world doesn't feel as immersive. I'll still keep my hopes up about this though!

Yeah that felt weird about this trailer. It was fun in the first game when the areas that you explored were essentially the battlefields the fights happened on. Though it seems they fixed the overly linear setting of the original one.

The way battlefields had to be integrated into the world in the first game made traversal pretty tedious and predictable. Hopefully this style will allow them to flesh the world out and add more opportunities for exploration like in Paper Mario.

Maybe the battlefields are still in the worlds, but they’re reserved for like, bosses or challenges or whatever. Idk it’s speculation on my end, but this game looks great either way

side note: I love how the MarioRabbid Hybrids (RabbidMario, RabbidPeach, etc) all have Rabbid like voices of who they’re trying to be

the first Mario + Rabbids was the biggest surprise when it first came out, and now I am ready to fall in love with this game
