The game has so little sidemodes that it wastes 3-4 minigames slots on single player minigames just for the story mode.

It's funny that Vernias is know for the Perfect Rotation because of the one minigame that Sophist and Nick threw, thereby causing Brent to lose, and not the much more impressive mastery of Chance time

By no stretch of the imagination did Nick throw, and rotating minigames are just button mashers with sticks instead of buttons so Sophist woulda lost even if he wasn't using Joy-Cons. That being said, yeh, I'm surprised his Chance Time skills didn't overshadow Perfect Rotation!

Brent's skills in when it comes to input (mashing, specified buttons, and rotation), recognition, and just overall speed is insane, but he himself admits that he can't do the last block in chance time. Vernias on the other hand can and does so. His real power is the Vernation Concentration.

Ah, my favorite Mario Party game, Shin Megami Tensei 4. Let's see if Vernias can survive the "Top 100". 22:58 Well that's a callback I never expected to see.

Some great ones are in this game, but not everyone and for every Mario Party enjoyer you have different Tier lists, for example Choc and Vern liked at least the Minigames of Mario Party 9 more than 8 and I personally liked 8 more but I missed some bangers like Dungeon Duo as well

I can totally sympathize with Vern with the shoulder buttons and analog not working properly on a 3DS. My old 3DS had the same issues. They just seem to wear out eventually (or get dirty). It seems like Mario Party Superstars is Top 100 done right.

@@zacharylandrum4789 I've never heard of a modded 3DS behaving any different than an unmodded one in terms of control problems. My old 3DS was unmodded and still had the button issues regardless.

@@zacharylandrum4789 Absolutely not. I have Luma3DS and all that on my 2DS, and every single button is working like a charm. It might be a software issue with Top 100 though, as Mario & Luigi Dream Team had a similar problem where the Gyro controls would just stop responding (that was fixed in the 1.1 patch I think).

The minigames weren't the problem. It's the boards. There's a reason Mario Party Superstars is essentially called Mario Party top 100 done correctly.

Where with superstars they at least tried with the minigame selection, in this one it feels like after a bit they just throwed darts at wheels to see what mp game would come out, guess we had bad luck with the throws.

My brain has filled the silence in the minigames with just the voices of Brent, Nick and Eevee

This showed up in my recommended, and I felt like I should recognise you, but the video starting with SMTIV on screen and good content definitely made it worth clicking. And then Nick was mentioned and I realised why you were familiar but I couldn't entirely place it. You're the healer xD

Mario Party The Top 100: Daniel Mario Party Superstars: The Cooler Daniel

If you want to play a good Mario Party game, play Mario Party DS. It has a friendship space. Also, it makes me love DK's progression in Mario Party games. He went from a character, to a space on the board, to being the board itself. There's a fun story mode for single players (Bowser shrinks everyone) and every stage has a different gimmick. The first and last boards (Wiggler's Garden and Bowser's Pinball) are more traditional in how you get stars. However, the other three have different gimmicks in how you collect stars. My favorite being Bowser's Pinball and DK's Stone Statue. The latter has you buy Stars in bulk if you have enough coins. Pretty cool, but one of the things that can happen in the final 5 turns is reduce the star cost to 5 coins. Me and my brother have gotten games where we have about 19 stars by the end of the game. It gets even crazier in team mode, where to players team up and share coins and stars. My brother did not like CPU Wario's tendency to waste money. Please play this game whether it be with the boys or by yourself in story mode.

What makes DS stand out imo is that the boards are all really, really small, and you can buy multiple items in shops at once, so overall it makes items ridiculously busted. You could often get multiple stars in one turn with a well placed triple dice. The games are all super fun, all follow the "yall are tiny" flavor and you can play it with four people on just one cartridge too. Underrated banger.

I’m not gonna hide it: I still love the Top 100. Missed potential, sure. But that potential was later realized anyway.
