They're only damage sponges because you're too under leveled. My tactic for the least resistance is to get so much up in level, that It takes too long for the next level to grind in each stage. Then when I encounter the bosses, it's easy-peasy.

Kinda late reply but if you still care, play the European version of the game if you can. They reduced severely the HP of many bosses, especially the later ones.

@@spiritbaki108 Yeah it’s an online emulator and I’m using a laptop. It’s slow but on the bright side lag makes enemy attacks easier to dodge and bros. items easier to pull of so I guess it’s a fair trade?

38:00 Okay okay f*ck f*ck f*ck, I was looking for this game, because I remembered playing it when I was 4 or 5 and talking about it with a guy in the school yard (playground ?), and now that I'm 18, I'm still traumatized by this place in the game, since I couldn't beat those godd*mn koopas !!!!! I'm glad I've made peace with myself now, and that I finally know the name of this incredible game.... Still, I'm frustrated since I haven't gotten to go further in the game since.... that. Life is weird sometimes dang.

Games be like that sometimes. There was a game I played when I was 3 and when I told people about it they thought I was crazy. You played as a blue cat who had a boxing glove on a extending arm. 20 years later a video pops in my feed called "Rockin Cats" and it made me feel so much better that I didnt just have a fever dream in my younger days.

Dont forget that grown Mario has picked up whole Castle and thrown it like nothing, and destroyed it with few jumps (Super Mario World). Plus picked up King Bob-Omb, picked up and swinged Bowser like nothing (Super Mario 64) so yeah.
