well i'll let you know more about em the bosses were part of an obscure online mode called "tournament" well you had to complete missons to get on top of a leaderboard before it was replace by another mission, it was really similar to mission mode from mario kart ds and now beccause online shut down, there is now no official way to play it

If there’s one thing Crash Team Racing or Diddy Kong Racing did better than Mario Kart would be their story modes and boss battles. Made single player so much more fun

If you are in front of him, he is guaranteed to get Stars on some item boxes and his flames are way harder to evade. So, I stayed behind him to better dodge his attacks (since this is a "No Damage" run) and to get a Star for the final part of lap three.
