This game was revolutionary for Mario Kart. The track layout for this game was simply so good, especially in this last cup.

The first modern Mario Kart game. This is when the tracks really started to get good, when we first had a substantial character roster and vehicle selection, when computers started to be less unforgiving, when the controls began to get better, and when we first saw the modern sprites of the characters.

The drifting in this game, especially when compared to Mario Kart 64, is SO bloody intuitive and responsive.

The Special Cup is my favorite for two reasons. 1) The courses being a real challenge this time. 2) The music especially Rainbow Road. Without a doubt.

+MegamanNG: Bowser's Castle and Rainbow Road are the two best best racecourses in this game, IMO. I wished they both returned in MK8 as DLC racetracks, but no, we got Baby Park and Yoshi Circuit and those two already appeared as a retro racetrack in MK DS... -_-

POYO MiDORi That too. That was dumb that they added the SNES Rainbow Road since it was already used as a Retro Track in Mario Kart 7.

In my opinion, even tough it passed almost 20 years,This is still the best Mario Kart cup ever.

While I do like this one, I'd say Wii is the best. 1. Track selection is double the size of this game. 2. A very BIG amount of Nitro tracks are extremely memorable. (Moo Moo Meadows, Mushroom Gorge, Toad's Factory, Coconut Mall, Wario's Gold Mine, DK Summit, Koopa Cape, Maple Treeway, Grumble Volcano, etc) 3. Most of the new characters were cool. Rosalina, Funky Kong, Dry Bowser were all cool, but the flaw was more baby characters. 4. Retro selection was pretty good too. Defino Square, Waluigi Stadium, DK Mountain, N64 Bowser's Castle, etc. I will say though that this game's Special cup is better than Wii's. Wii Rainbow Road is cool and all, but Wario Colosseum and Bowser's Castle are better than Dry Dry Ruins and Wii Bowser Castle. But, you have your own opinion, and I respect that :)

150cc is tough until you learn the double dash and mini turbos. Once you figure those out and learn the tracks/where to drift, it becomes much easier. It does take real skill though and its very tough.

Now that the movie is over, I’m going to FINISH playing the game, BEFORE mom comes back to the hotel. And then after that I’ve COMPLETED the Special Cup, I watched the credits, and then I turned off the Nintendo Gamecube at 11:58 p.m. I was getting ready to go to bed. I’m getting ready for bed now.

Not trying your best to avoid Bowser? Why don't you try breaking out the heavy artillery by watching the Dry Bowser videos? That way, you WON'T get to see Bowser ever again. And seeing Dry Bowser makes you really happy again, so Rosalina, Baby Rosalina, Luma, and Lubba WILL be featuring with Dry Bowser, and Bowser'll be out of your head! The longer you can avoid Bowser, the better you can see Dry Bowser, and the sooner you can get to be WITH Dry Bowser, the safer you can be FAR AWAY from Bowser! At least you can try to get to Dry Bowser, INSTEAD of avoiding him, just because you are trying so VERY HARD to avoid Bowser! Remember: whenever Bowser's around here somewhere, DON'T try to find him! You can try to see Dry Bowser, and at least you can do is to say for Bowser's FINAL and last appearance is: "GET OUT OF HERE, BOWSER!" And you can say goodbye to Bowser, and hello to Dry Bowser! I used the Toads and their kart after seeing you selected them, and got the special cup in 150cc and now will use them to unlock the rest. If only you had advice to get past chapter 7 in F-zero GX Story mode.

It seems like levels back them were harder than today's MK8

I would always choose Birdo and Diddy Kong :p

Personally, my favorite courses of Mario Kart is Rainbow Road from the Wii version, Mushroom Gorge also from the Wii version, and last Bowser's Castle N64 version
