    Are you doing your two six week camps during the summer after your freshman and sophomore year? Do you have any flexibility of when you can complete the camps? Do most people do their 6 week camps starting after their freshman year? Thanks.

    Preston McWilliams it really all depends on when you get selected. If you’re selected your freshman year then you’ll do your first 6 six weeks that summer. Most people do their second six weeks after their junior year, however I’m doing my second 6 weeks after my sophomore year since I’m projected to graduate early. There is some flexibility there with the PLC. Also they will ask if you prefer the first or second increment of the summer.

    I am still kind of confused on what exactly this is about. When you decide to join PLC are you joining the marine corps officially and do you have to go to boot camp?

  • @coltenwilkerson3306

    @coltenwilkerson3306

    3 жыл бұрын

    No. You don’t ever “join the PLC” per say but if you get selected to attend Officer Candidate School (OCS) you still have no obligation to join the Marine Corps or even attend OCS. Even if you complete the training you can still decline your offer to commission without any consequences unless you accept any financial aid along the way.

  • @coltenwilkerson3306

    @coltenwilkerson3306

    3 жыл бұрын

    Your packet should tell you certain people to get them from and then it will leave the rest of your recommendations up to you. I suggest getting them from coaches, employers, teachers, and especially high ranking service members that you may know. Hope this helps, but if you want more specifics I can look back at my packet.

    How is the PFT scored. Like what is the minimum and maximum reps and times for pullups crunches and the run. I keep on hearing different answers

  • @coltenwilkerson3306

    @coltenwilkerson3306

    4 жыл бұрын

    You have to have a minimum of 225 pft to start training after arriving at OCS. The minimum for each score is 8 pull-ups, 70 crunches or a 1min 3sec plank, and 24 min 3mile run. These are the minimums that apply when you take your initial pft after arriving to OCS but you most likely will not even be put up for a selection board if you have scores that low. So what that means is that you have to work harder to get selected since it is very competitive minimums don’t get you far. Hope this helps!

I did first 6 weeks each summer, which was good, we got July 4th off for it fell over a weekend and we went to DC and got a hotel room did some sight seeing and relaxed. Also each summer they took us to 8th and I in DC , USMC Commandants home and saw the Marine Band and Drill team.

    I wanna say it was about 50-60% for juniors and for seniors about 60%. Those numbers sound low but the vast majority of girls who go home are not sent home because they actually failed. It’s either medical or they quit. I saw way too many women graduate who failed multiple PT events.
