@@Jongen. i preferred FROOT for several reasons, but she definitely grew in L+F. she's finally acknowleding her problems and instead of embracing them and wearing them as her aesthetic, her songs (especially in the second half of the album) are about her trying to solve her problems (especially No More Suckers and Soft to be Strong), and that's an improvement over her just being bitter and wistful about things she has no control over (Gold, Weeds, Savages).

@Owen Hopkins I like FROOT more because I feel like the thing is that it's the only album where the songs don't seem to blend into one another? Like, none of the songs stand out from one another because they all have something different to bring to the table, and it just feels like it has a lot more variety than her other three albums. L+F is pretty strong lyrically, but the thing is that it has 16 tracks, and FROOT which only has 12 tracks (unless you count INHA) covers more ground. Fun fact: only one song in L+F is longer than 4 minutes. Meanwhile, only one song on FROOT is less than 4 minutes!

I love how it's a relatively cheerful song, but it has an ominous undercurrent. Marina is honestly fantastic

Weeds is another song she has this same style, she subtly uses downbeats while keeping the tempo light and 'carefree' to make it sound happy yet sad. She is the queen at expressing emotion through song.

This song is FUCKING gorgeous. As someone with anxiety and feeling this way in my current relationship, afraid that they'll hurt me or betray me in some way is such a toxic place to live in, and the line "don't want to look back when I'm older on what didn't happen" holds so much weight. We worry and worry and stress and stress and yet everything turns out to be okay in the end, let go of your insecurity and fear and believe in love. Shouldn't take fear so seriously. Seriously.

I really need y'all to get into the VULNERABILITY of this song... Basically she's in love with this person who's truly a great person but due to her fear she won't allow herself to be in love or embrace love in any faccet! Losing this person is her fear but she can't trust them due to the underlying fear she has and if she doesn't let go of that fear she just may lose this person... I feel like this song was a pep talk sing from her to herself cause as she stated she allowed fear to keep her from love and the fear of love to keep her from moving forward in life when she explained this album and this song definitely encompasses that message and struggle.. beyond just the Musicality of this song and it sounding good this song has LAYERS!!!

I wish my ex could hear this, because this was his whole thing, he wanted love me, but didn't trust, and when I had the best intentions, and gave him everything, he still didn't trust, so he lost me. Mostly because of ghosting me, but still, the fear and insecurities pushed himself away from me.

Fear is still the worst for me. I have an anxiety disorder and I'm only 16 (and yes, I am diagnosed, so don't think I'm only edgy). I will deal with fear my entire time. I was in a psychiatric for 6 painful months. I took 4 different meds for an 8 month span, first antidepressants, then light fear killer with the antidepressants, then strong fear killer that I was allowed only to take 2 weeks, I became a kind of junkie through them, and now I take a different antidepressant who also helps with anxiety disorders. Before all of this I drank plenty herbal teas, pill, drops whatever. I wasn't able to finish my last school year. I lost my BFF. I got my heart broken 3 times. I was involved in an car accident while driving to therapy. I still am afraid of cars. I repeat the year now, I'm out since the end of September. I only got better at the end 3 months due to the meds. My class hates me, I hate them too. I hope just to finally finish my school and move on. I still need therapy, but I am glad I haven't relapsed as I did almost 2 times.

I can so relate to this song’s lyrics. At first I only noticed ”oh this chorus is amazing!” And when I listened more, I bursted into tears. These lyrics explain so much how I feel. I’m afraid of relationships and I have commitment issues so this song is really therapeutic for me. I really love the person who I am with, and he is almost perfect for me.
