Prime example: Congress stated in congressional hearing that many colleges are subsidized by the government yet colleges still up their costs to students because they know they’ll get the money from student loans. Money that goes to stockholders not to the students. That’s why tuition is so high. From greed not inflation.

    I really don't like how these two are running with this story. Buying a house with that money is not hardship. Needing to feed yourself and helping other family members during the pandemic is.     @sandywaters1153 Right! But the whole thing is this, they were looking for her to make a mistake, and she gave it to them. Same thing for Martha. She also may lose her license. Not worth it. Find another way to take your money out where the only thing that happens is that you pay a penalty for taking the money out too early. And pay the taxes on it. She is a lawyer, she knew this. I have seen this happen to a lot of women, and they were made an example of while others got away with it.

    @@alexandrajackson8498 from what I just listen to it sounds as if the application for withdrawal from the 401(k) was on the basis of waiving certain taxes from the withdrawal, based on economic hardship Covid. It appears she is being persecuted for the appearance of fraud of fraud disclosing the assets of properties in Florida does not equate to hardship, I still believe this is egregious means of political retaliation. She’s young, black , beautiful, intelligent and those in power see her as a threat are willing to use corruption to get her out of the way. She’s not alone and she will be vindicated. 🙏🏾

    I hate her victim mentality! She did wrong. She sat as the top legal leader in the city of Baltimore and committed a crime. So she's need to be held at a higher standard when she do wrong like this, because she knows better. She didn't even do her job while in Baltimore. Crime worsened under her time in the position and continues to worsen to this day. She just needs to do the time (which I don't think will be 40 years) and try to do better and change her attitude during this time. Further more, if she was in "hardship" why would she buy vacation homes in another state. She's such a fraud! Good riddance. Her ex-husband's time is next.

There is audio of her, asking the bank if it was ok yes it’s not like Donald Trump, where she defrauded the government out of millions of in a loan Her husband sent her $5000 and she sent it back and they claim that she needed the $5000 make her interest rate on her loan application go down we all know that that’s not how loan application works.     People withdraw money from 401k all the time. Mortgage Company's advise you to use from it. And for the purchase of a home is a criteria for 401k withdraw.

    She wasn’t facing 40 years. That’s if you add up all the maximums. The Feds wanted 20 months, which is 1-1/2 years, not 40. What really buried her was her fraud was caught on tape with an arrogant voice saying “I need that money”!! Then she lied saying she was living more than 75 days per year in the house which is an obvious lie. She’s the Baltimore DA and she lives 3 months a year in Florida??

    The problem isn't how she spent the money. The problem is how she withdrew it. It's hard to justify your claim of financial hardship when you're making MORE money in 2020 than you did in 2019. And if my dad--who is 77--withdrew money from his 401k or IRA with a lie to back it up, he'd be in legal trouble too.
