Just a reminder that Marilyn never wanted to do this. She was heavily pressured to do this stunt, and felt uncomfortable with it. You can tell on her face how she’s trying to hide the discomfort and misery. Her husband had also beaten her after this, not simply argued with her.

@@A380_Aviator apparently beating someone is ordering them with an authoritative tone. The obvious part is that they would argue over it which is what the video alluded to, the fact that it neglects to mention the beating depicts MM for simply leaving him over a disagreement as well as condoning this stunt which she didn't. I don't expect any man to let his wife live down doing something both would consider demeaning but if your solution is beating them, my mistake, ordering them with an authoritative tone, I'm sorry but I can only wish good luck to any woman who unfortunately happen to come your way.

Monroe hated most times she played and was overly sexualized and behind the scenes was taken advantage of. B she did not feel ok doing acts like these either. She just didn't feel she had the power to stop it. Plus in this instance she had an abusive husband who hated her being provocative but the industry demanded she do it that way. She was type casted as sexual from the beginning and couldn't get away from it which her husband was drawn to get for it but didn't want it to continue and became obsessive and possessive over her. He wanted control. She wanted times that has nothing to do with sexualizing women but they wouldn't hire her any other way. Her entire career was people taking advantage of her and her life was that way to. Don't sugar coat what happened. She is still a sex icon today but she never wanted to be.

Joe DiMaggio was a hot tempered traditionalist Italian man who tried to turn Marilyn into a housewife, when that didn't work, he resorted to violence. He was a violent Neanderthal man. As far as that movie goes: it had a director, the director says " we'll have the flow of air from the subway lift your skirt" and that was that! This was the 50's, women didn't have that much to say, even famous ones. It became a beautiful iconic scene, nothing wrong about it.

Ok people keep saying that Marilyn didn’t want to do the scene, which perhaps was true but at the same time Marilyn is an incredibly savvy businesswoman she understands her brand and knew how to sell film, and also, has done more suggestive performances out of her own volition. So there’s a part of me that thinks Marilyn knew that if she did the blowing skirt scene, it would boost her brand and bring more moviegoers. Also, to anyone who watched Blonde and using it as a basis of fact. Please note it’s based off of a biographical fiction novel so there’s not a whole lot of truth and the writer of the novel Joyce Carol Oates constantly paints Monroe as a victim and naive when in fact she was smart, sharp, charming and incredibly brave.

Because I've noticed that literally almost on every single video event that I've watched there is this information where it makes people mad and they go blowing up the comments ! I'm pretty sure this is a well-thought-out plan of this narrator to get everybody riled Up so he can generate more money, ... By the extra attention and comments that it brings in! 😲😒 ..... Seriously, learn the facts *then* do the video. 1. It wasn't a publicity stunt. 2. It's 'Wilder', not 'Wildler'. 3. Many women of that era, "decent" or not, showed bare legs. 4. Probably the most willfully ignorant and glaringly inaccurate one here - they didn't have a "heated argument", he severely beat her, left her bleeding and bruised and she had to be patched up and covered in lots more body makeup in order to shoot the next day. Facts matter.
