Marilyn was a beautiful icon! And her personal belongings should have been put in a museum for the world to admire. I'm still fascinated by her beautiful face and personality. Marilyn will be forever young and live on forever!

It really is awful the way they sold off all her belongings like that, they should have kept them all and had a museum dedicated to her!

I agree,it's a shame they weren't passed on to a family member, Joe DiMaggio did take everything out of Marilyn house,how it got to her acting coach wife,she didn't know her,never seen her furniture from her house,she never had much.

agree with the comment below.. Marilyn would be turning in her grave if she learned that her personal effects were auctioned off to the highest bidders.. it was her wish that her belongings would be shared among those who are important to her... Even her last wish was not respected.. Poor Marilyn.

Her personal effects were left to Lee Strasberg, when he passed away they transferred to his surviving wife, Anna Strasberg. MM knew Lee and Paula Strasberg well but not Anna, who has made a fortune from MM's estate.

@@desolationangel5136 yes and that's crazy. She made all those money selling someone else's belongings, and Marilyn worked for having them... I hope She did a bit of charity at least, even if I didn't found info about It around.

In the end, it is just stuff.

They just got rid of all her things like she doesn't matter period like she was not worth nothing she is a legend and they just auction all her things they didn't make it into a museum. They just making money off poor marilyn like she meant nothing. Now she can never rest.

Tony Curtis is an asshole for treating Marilyn the way he did. He wasn't her "buddy" he called her all kinds of names to the public. She didn't like him at all. I don't blame her. I think they should've kept all of her stuff and made a museum out of it, so everybody can see all she accomplished, and her personal belongings. Now, some things are lost or ruined, misplaced, retouched. So sad for Marilyn, still making money off of her, even after her death. Will Marilyn Monroe ever find peace? I thought she was at rest, but isn't. People have gone to her grave and disturbed her rest. Now, she's out roaming areas she once visited. Poor Marilyn, when will she ever get a break?

I hate to be defending Christie's and Strasberg but I don't think Marilyn would be so upset about this. Every cent of the auction went to charity. Some did end up in museums, like the Hollywood Museum, where an exhibit of her stuff is in the Max Factor room which she was turned into a blonde. Marilyn always wanted to feel she accomplished something and helped people. Now the stuff is in the hands of collectors who adore her and the money is helping animals, education, and Hollygrove Orphanage.

In the years since the auction, she's donated it to various charities for education , animals, underprivileged children , the homeless etc.

That's not true. Tony Curtis was a well known Misogynist and Marilyn was the first person that ever pointed that out. I'm not surprised that Tony tried to "slander" her name. I wouldn't believe Tony Curtis as far as I could throw him.. I also feel sorry for his daughter Jamie.. imagine being the progeny of that Creep!. He's not a legend, and he will be forgotten.. no one likes Women haters. I believe MARILYN ALL THE WAY.

The picture isn't all that clear but it appears that Marilyn's prayer book is only volume 1. I have two copies of the Union Prayer Book for Jewish Worship and both are in two volumes. It's logical that Marilyn had both volumes. I wonder what happened to the second one.
