Marie Sings to Paulie ~ Ending

Фильм және анимация

The official ending to the movie Paulie.
This part is my most favourite part of all. I get goose bumps watching it.

@@calvinlam7272 I think an alternate ending would be more like this: 1. Misha and Marie get married with Paulie happily flying around as they profess their love for each other. 2. Benny buys a new parrot hoping he can try to train it to steal like he did with Paulie. This goes completely awry as not only does that parrot trigger the alarm and get captured, it also reveals Benny's name by mimicking his verbal fights with Ruby and by mimicking Benny's orders to steal. Benny easily gets tracked since the authorities recognize him based on the parrot's mimicry as sufficient evidence. 3. Misha gets a job offer as a mathmatics teacher and often brings Paulie to school. It is also revealed that Marie is the school's headmaster. Misha admits this job position is one he dreamed of while Paulie enjoys giving Misha some company as he teaches. A very surprised Misha soon discovers that Paulie has a very expansive mathematical memory as well, something he reveals to Marie. 4. Dr Reingold gets arrested after the poor animal treatment in his lab gets discovered. Furthermore, it is revealed the institute tried to reclaim Paulie through deceptive means, but backfired when not only do the authorities recognize him as the scientist who made a fool of himself claiming to be in possession of a sapient parrot, but after discovering the conditions his animal subjects lived in, he is imprisoned. It also didn't help that Reingold's employees turned on him, claiming "no knowledge of a sapient parrot and that their boss, simply lost his mind over such a strange obsession). Dr Reingold is soon diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic, which funnily enough he does soon descend into an incoherent mess. 5. Lupe soon gets found in a pet store by sheer coincidence. As Misha went to buy food for Paulie (who came along as well), the latter recognizes her and begs Misha to buy Lupe which he does. Marie is excited that Paulie is finally able to have a partner as well. 6. Misha and Marie end up having kids and names them Paul and Ivy. Lupe and Paulie also end up having with two baby chicks who the latter decides to name them Mary and Mikhail.

Flower8 a cage is only bad if it’s small, empty and if they spend all of their lives in it. But if a parrot is socialised with the family and interact with them outside the cage every day all day he can have a happy full-filling life. Parrots need sleep in a safe dark place for 10-12 hours a day. The cage is not meant to lock them up it’s meant to provide a safe habitat for them, when the owners are outside or when they need to sleep. They need to have their own space in the house, some parrots even get territorial and defensive towards their cage. Of course the bigger the cage the better, if they live in an aviary the better. Bottom line cages are not necessarily bad if the owner treat their birds as part of the family.

@@tinabastarache2674 my dad actually did make me get rid of several birds in my life as a child. I never had a bond like what was between Marie and Paulie though but I was still so resentful for a long time. I have a bird I do have a strong bond with now, and if I lost him in whatever way, I would be so devastated and would probably not recover from the loss for a really long time. And Marie was such a little girl, she probably didn’t even know how to handle the heartbreak. It breaks my heart to think about how this happens to real kids where their parents take pets they are bonded with away thinking they’re just a disposable animal, but the child and pet will endure so much trauma from the separation 😞

I think Misha was just as stunned as Paulie was at seeing Marie at first... And maybe even the viewer. Throughout the whole movie, Paulie never did give a time frame as to how long ago his journey was up til he was caged in the lab basement. At the end of Paulie's story, Misha only asked "How long ago was that?" And Paulie replied, "....... I can't even remember." One would probably think, oh maybe 3-5 years? But when you finally see grown-up Marie revealed, it actually tears at your heartstrings that much more. They were expecting to still meet a little girl with a stuttering problem, only to be met with a confident, matured, beautifully-voiced woman. Paulie was separated from his first love, caged up, lonely and slowly going senile for probably 20+ years!!!! And in the final moment of doubt, the lullaby that lulled them both to sleep as children brought them back together. This movie will be locked in my heart FOREVER!!!

This movie is so wholesome, though I nearly have a full breakdown whenever the old lady he stayed with for a while dies, and Paulie says, "Then one day, the cat got her..." it breaks my little heart every damn time. Just typing this comment has me ready to start bawling.

I loved the ending to this film!!! Was so so sad when she had her bird taken away from her, and Paulie got captured by the animal origination. But was such a great ending with Paulie finding his way, and help from a few people and Meisha.

One of the most underrated movies ever made! A movie that is 100% clean, family of all ages can genuinely enjoy, timeless, and no heavy CGI. I loved this movie when it came out, and I still do! The perfect mix of sarcasm and wit, action and adventure, moral lessons, laughs and tears! (Sigh) Why did they stop making films like these? It was such a brief decade that produced films like this Homeward Bound, The Secret Garden, Ever After, Black Beauty, Jingle All the Way, Sleepless in Seattle... I really miss that decade!

0:45 you can hear the fear in Paulies voice. Throughout the years he’s been conned by people with their own selfish agendas saying “oh yeah I’ll take you to Marie” and right here he’s denying it’s her cuz he’s afraid of being tricked again. I love how she sang their song to convince him it really is her he’s finally found her💕
