This song and album were one of my favorites to jam to during the summer of 2010, along with a few other albums.
The Rarities album should include this gem.

I thought so too, along with "When I Feel It" what should've been on the 2005 CD album "The Emmancipation of Mimi".

This is such a gem! The fact that I am only discovering this now is a crime. This is definitely a sibling to Subtle Invitation and it is so interesting because both tracks are clear precursors to a lot of the live traditional soul cuts for The Emancipation of Mimi such a Mine Again, Circles, I Wish You Knew and Fly Like a Bird. Mariah is honestly so artistically cohesive. Her songwriting, production and vision are so palpable, one of the reasons why she can't be duplicated but definitely why she will always inspire. This could also sit well as part of a soundtrack and definitely closing credits to allow one to simmer and absorb.
one of her best songs and its not even on streaming like........
