Mariah is not appreciated enough. I see people bashing her constantly saying she's lost her voice now and that she's a diva.She gave us album after album and belted and belted til she strained. She also resung all the vocals for her remixes, a fact people seemed to forget. Hasn't she given us enough yet? This talented icon has got nothing left to prove and no video of her struggling to sing will make me respect or love her any less! And now that Prince is gone there are very few like her left. We should be uplifting her and not bringing her down. She's one of the last legends we have still living besides a few others. And her legacy and voice is the wish of all the artists out there, who will never come close to her success and talent. She gave us everything she had in her to make her carrer the greatest there is and also for us to look back on n have beautiful lyrics we all could enjoy, how on earth can ppl be so cruel? All this talk is the new generation, they have no respect for wat true art is and talent means. They can't appreciate what she has done because they aren't from her and our time...they were raised a different way than we were so yea they will say all these nasty awful things about her but we can only keep helping them understand her uniqueness in the industry. They don't know any better. Ppl also don't appreciate her vocal abilities..her talent the hard work she put in, she has fought to make a difference in the years and this is how she gets repaid?? Smh, its absurd. Her voice is still there, strained yes but there.....that is a mix of medical issues and years of giving it her all so we could listen to uplifting music and sexy music aswell. Idk about them or even ppl from our generation can be alittle bit of an asshole but I choose to stick with Mariah because I have been a fan from day one. I will always be her fan, her lamb ha. I stay loyal to her because I was raised better than that. I respect all she has done for the ppl all around the world and for her fight to the top. They can say wat they wanna say about her but this woman can still sing her butt off and will always be number one in the industry because she didnt get handed her fame like most do today, oh no...she worked very hard and to me that is a real star.

Her voice is very sensitive. She literally has had vocal nodules her entire life. It's literally one or multiple HARD LUMPS on your vocal cords that you have no control over. And she still gives her all to the fans and everybody else. The thing is, the media and the general public have such an ingrained """free hate""" against anything Mariah-related that they will not even glimpse at the 99 good performances, but will absolutely DESTROY HER SELF ESTEEM AND CONFIDENCE based on ONE not so flawless performance (because she's human just like all of us and every comments takes a toll on you, no matter how strong your wall is).

I really appreciate that interviewers are now focusing on Mariah’s songwriting genius. Before, they only talked about her ability to reach notes in the 7th octave, but Mariah was not passionate about the notes she could hit! She was passionate about the songs she wrote, and seeing her eyes gleam when interviewers comment on her ability to create hit song after hit song is something I always take to heart. She is a songwriter!

People respect "the old" Mariah. Honestly she is actually still seen as one of the best vocalist of like the century, but people also are not deaf and the quality of her vocals in recent years has gone down drastically. Age, didn't rest her voice while younger, I don't know what else, but it's a fact. I'm not a fan, but I'll never say she can't sing or smthg like that. But I could totally say that she can't sing ANYMORE (Or at the very least she can't sing very well now). Anyway, nobody has forgotten her and everyone still very well regards her (old) vocals as pure gold.

The fact that she was the one who wrote "All I Want for Christmas" and the all other iconic songs she released makes her an icon and a living legend at a level occupied by her alone.

I was in a used record store the year that first album was released. No one knew who she was, the first single hadn’t hit yet, it was being sent to radio stations. I had come across a promotional copy of the album on cassette on the “new arrival” shelf. The cassette was encased in a box that was a replica of the album cover. I paid 5$ for it. I had a feeling about it, couldn’t even listen to it, had to buy it as is. Man, I knew every single track before anyone else. It was an amazing stroke of luck! I knew every song before Vision of Love hit and was kind of pissed Vanishing wasn’t the first single, lol. That album, smh. I remember dancing alone in an empty gym at night with the lights off to an 8 min Someday remix. I remember singing along, crying, to I Don’t Want To Cry. That album was EVERYTHING to me, sigh. Fan for life.

I just love that she never made her image trashy just to be in trend.

@@ramonpadilha9987 and to be honest she is not as young and pretty as a 24 years old person and people seem to not only judge artists by their talent but also by how they look. In the music industry it's almost impossible to start a career at your 30-40 because looks DO matter to people even though they won't admit it. Also if you are around 20 years old your voice is still good and probably sounds young. Ther are always exceptions but this is what happened to mariah. (There are also other things that affected her career like her "I don't know her " scandal)

Not too late to appreciate Mariah Carey's talent and music. We've lost a lot of Legends this year we should appreciate them while they're still with us...

Obsessed was my intro to her vocal classy highness. Never looked back! Beautiful. The gentle Power in her disposition is simply unmatched.

There’s a big difference between her interviews when she was still being managed by stella and now... thank God she got rid of stella

2014-2016 she was a whole other person. She looked way older. She was really overweight, her voice was in a very bad condition. And she was Hella shady. 2017 until now, She's being her true self. The Mariah we love. Plus she looks youger than before.

Gosh i like her like this, shes so funny, open and honest, i learnt so much new stuff here.

I absolutely adore her story. She came from poverty to success!

When she mentioned being 'cool to like her' and Charmbracelet, I could've cried seriously. Charmbracelet was possibly my favourite album at a time when she was not very popular so her saying that, got me.

She gave a classy answer about the obsessed video but we all love her, and she's so talented and so beautiful.

Oh my God she has a really good memory ! You can tell Mariah is smart and has an amazing sense of humor !

She's a legend, I'm so mad at how much underrated she is, the lyrics, the bridges she built between many different genres, the risks she took for switching from a contemporary pop register to a rnb register in the middle of the 90s, her resung remixes, her melisma that inspired ALL singers since the 90s to belt like her ... she changed the music industry as much as a Michael Jackson.
