My first daughter was born in spring 1992, I remember holding her and dancing around the living room to this on the radio. She heartbreakingly died 9 months ago today aged just 30. I'm here to remember a beautiful soul and relive a moment in time that will stay forever. ❤️💔 Edit: 23 May 2023 - it's a year today. She was just 3 when we were dancing to this.. I'm thankful for the memories. Thankful for the comments of kindness, love & blessings that send me notifications to come back & visit a beautiful song that reminds me of my beautiful daughter ❤️

This song was playing on the radio on the day of my Mum's funeral when we were leaving the house, I remember after hearing it I immediately googling the lyrics as I really loved it, it was sorta like a message from my Mum that I will always be her baby as she used to say. R.I.P. Mum 1968-2020

Musical structure and true vocal performances reigned supreme...boy bands started the decline, imo, not that any of then were bad singers, but the music became dull and seemed less like the flow of inspiration for music into what can we make that will pump people up and focus on the vocals. from there, vocals took the lead and musical talent was substituted for the best producer to churn out...just, garbage. And mumble rap took us from there...

Sure they do. I think Señorita, Memories, and Blinding Lights will all age really well, just to name 3 examples

I would turn on MTV first thing in the morning, my sister and I would put a VHS in and we'd tape every single song that was on. TLC, Michael Jackson, Mariah, REM, Simply Red, Whitney Houston, Alanis Morissette, MTV's week in rock, etc. We would have friends and cousins over and we would dance and sing for hours. Scatman was a favorite. We would copy Michael's moves when Black or White was on. Then we would watch Cartoon Network. In the afternoon on weekends we'd go to birthday parties with our shoes that lit up and mom's brown lipstick that we shouldn't have been wearing. Rocking jeans dungarees and ponytails with two strands of hair in the front. Jelly shoes. Dancing, laughing, happiness. I would give anything to go back and feel the pure joy of the 90s if only for a day.

This was my mamas favorite song, and since she passed in 2013 I play this song to smile and think back on the memories in the 90's. Riding in the back seat of my mom's brand new Pontiac grand am and she use to have this blasting riding with the windows down some of the best memories I still hold. I know I am a guy and guys dont say shit like this, but this song came out when I was in middle school. In 9th grade I had my first real girlfriend and we lost our virginity together. We were together for almost 3 years. After we broke up I didn't fight for her like I should have. This was actually our song. Now, 20 years later I know that she still lives in my area, married and has a kid but every once and a while I still think about her and wonder if she ever thinks of me. To this day, even though there has been so many girls that I have loved and lost since her. To me, she's still the one that got away and will always be my baby. I just wonder if she thinks the same of me at times. Mariah was right. Time can't erase a feeling this strong
