Maria was very beautiful, of course... but what I think most people don't pay enough attention to is how beautiful she was inside. It is a shame that she burned her diary, but from the records which still exist she was an amazing human being. She was warm, loving and selfless; she always put her loved ones before herself and she showed compassion to everyone. I wish I could have met her. I don't think very many people like that exist anymore these days

Mine too! I think you might want to read book by Gill Paul called "The Lost Daughter". It's a novel and fiction but such a great story and full of so many historical accuracies that knowing the Romanov family I was actually questioning if we really know the truth and if maybe the story from the book actually didn't happen! I wish it was true and at least in that amazing parrarel Maria survived her fatality! Highly recommended I read it in less than 24 hours!

Thank you so much. Wonderful, rare pictures. They show so clearly her sweet and humoresque nature/soul. Beautyful young lady. So sad she didn't have time to marry and have splendid wedding. Maybe with the handsome Luis Mountbatten. What a couple it would have been and how gorgeous children they could have had.

She looked like her beautiful paternal grandmother Empress Maria or princess Dagmar of Denmark. Look at pics when Dagmar was young it is an uncanny resemblance. Very beautiful, haunting video especially knowing the tragic outcome

I can see if they wanted/needed to take out the Czar or Czarina for whatever reasons and because they were so wealthy while others were starving in pre-Bolshevik revolutionary Russia, but they didn't have to take out their beautiful innocent children! Being related to Queen Victoria, they sought asylum in the UK, but were refused! Had they allowed them to live there, they would have been able to live out their lives, instead their lives were cut too short! Being a mother to three beautiful daughters and granddaughters of part Russian ancestry, I'm particularly sensitive to this great tragedy! Think Maria was the real beauty as many also think but they were all pretty in their own way. Alexi was a very handsome young boy like his father! There's a famous photo that shows Czar Nicholas standing next to King George the Vth, in their uniforms and they look like twin brothers, almost identical!

Если бы не капитуляция перед Германией по Брестскому миру, которую сделали большевики, то Германия уже бы не смогла напасть на Россию второй раз и не было бы 27 млн жертв
