No I think the somber piano music invokes the tragedy of loosing Ms Calla's so young, and she was such a beautiful dark Greek women who was so famous for her voice its unheard of today. Yes the clip of her pictures does her justice. Also I'd love to own some the jewels she wore during those performances. Just as keepsakes as they say...Its great to be alive.

She had an immense ruby Onassis gave her, she wore it many times as a ring and as a pendant. She is shown wearing the Persian Gulf natural pearl necklace. She had a diamond necklace with 36 immense stones. She had a pair of emerald earrings she bought at Van Cleef et Arpels and then she traded them for another pair and bought a matching string of emeralds at Bulgari. Most of the stuff shown here are paste, fake jewels made for the stage.

True, most of it is stage jewelry but I read that she would get involved in the design of each pieces made by Swarovski.

Myron Martin back then it wasn't even considerable, medical technology wasn't good enough, and you could have ended up worse than before. Also, she was beautiful and did not need any surgery.

I don't know if you remember remember but a lot of people suggested him to have a rimoderling of his teeth!! Fready always rifused!!! It would have effected his voice!! Edem for Cales!!

Mot of "Maria's jewelry" here is actually jewelry from her stage performances. Meaning, most likely they are not hers and second, they are not authentic. There's a difference on what a performer wears for acts (singing, acting, presentations, etc) and what a person actually owns and wears (see Elizabeth Taylor) for other occasions.

Does any know what happen to her estate such as antiques and paintings etc. I think they showed pictures of her penthouse? some moons ago, and she had beautiful antique furnishings and decorative arts.

Unfortunately! She had kept a few "original" pieces of jewelry from the 50's, together with the matching costumes. Later, opera houses provided those, so little did she have in the end. And after her death, a lot has been given away to an array of so-called experts on Callas who disposed of her archives and memorabilia in not an always respectful way. And some real jewels were sold by the NEPHEWS of her former husband's housekeeper a few years ago! That is the rotten world wel live in. Callas would have been extremely upset with that and she had said that she would have "preferred to burn everything instead of seeing her private/personal career belongings spread all over". She must now cry with the Angels. Kind rgds.

@@operabilia Unfortunately, that's the way life goes. Once you die, someone else will enjoy what you had, especially if they were worth a lot of money. Jewelry should always be worn, not collecting dust in collections and museums (unless historical). Just my two cents.

Just amazing beauty and talent to bad she fall for that womanizer Onassis , broke her heart to the point that she just no wanted to live anymore. He betray her and marry for glamour with Jackie.

MUSIC IS DREADFUL

The music is monotonous...I recommend watching without the music...it is a clip using the same 5 notes throughout the entire video..not complimentary to the great Callas at all.

Something more documentary would have been much better. This just a bunch of pictures.

Most of what she wore was real and not fake ,her main lover provided her with many jewels to be worn on and off stage ,where better to show her jewels but the stage
