Among the many excellencies in Vid. Gaayathiri' s singing, we note a couple of rare gamakkams in Kalyaani n Karaharapriya . A commendable inclusion of Thamizh songs. Inaccurate Samskridham lapses there may be , but they detract v.little from her presentation.

After listening to Gayathri Venkataraghavan’s concert on RagamalikaTV this year (2023), posted a blunt feedback on her pronunciation of Tamil words in காற்றினிலே வரும் கீதம் - which RagamalikaTV promptly removed and blocked me. Now I’m listening to her performance in 2022, and it’s the same problem: at least one instance of சகலகலா*வள்ளி* and repeated instances of உ*ண*தருளால். Seriously?

திருவாய்மொழி என்றது, திருவாய்மொழி, திருவாசகம் இரண்டுக்குமே பொருந்தும். வாய்மொழி, வாசகம் ஒன்றுதானே! பார்க்கப்போனால், வாக்கினால் பெயர் பெற்ற திருநாவுக்கரசர் தேவாரத்திற்கும் பொருந்தும்.

Learn Sanskrit pronunciation properly. Vaasanadaya.... Not vaasanaadhaya....
