Heading out on Jan 13, 2023 but plan to stay at the Grand Lucayan for 4 days before returning via the cruise ship …. Or should I say via the upscale ‘water taxi’ 🤷🏻‍♀️?

This looks amazing!

For people cruising on a budget like myself it seems rather awesome. Comparing these cruise ships to the carnival cruise ships or royal Caribbean cruise ships is just foolish. This is in its own category, reason for it being a micro cruise. For it being my first cruise I’m pretty excited.

@@jessigirlrae1688 Carnival and Margaritaville lean more to the budget friendly options. Royal Caribbean has great deals but not as low as the latter. There’s a lot of bigger ships and rates differ by ship, to cabin, to deck, to sail dates and etc.

As I speak my sister-in-law and brother are on this Cruise they say that they are up to $650 already 😳 you know I think they offer cheaper cruises depending on the day you go but then they count on everybody spending tons of money on the EXCURSIONS and the EXTRAS they're not stupid they know what they're doing... I actually booked for the beginning of October and I'm going to call tomorrow and cancel so happy that I came across this video I was going to go on the day of my brother's passing 2 years ago October 6th🥺🥺 just to celebrate his life and not be sad and this video was actually made on his birthday and I just feel like I'm not going to go after seeing what the ship actually has to offer I'm not impressed so thanks again for this video! Oh and I just found out it's $22 a day for VALET PARKING and you have NO CHOICE that's $44 more dollars crazy! I'll pass

It is what is it. A Ship that's over 30 years old, doing back and forth trips from Florida to the Bahamas. We went on the last ship about 4 years ago, that ship was really ready for the scrape yard. Looks good for its purpose, low fares for people that just want a fast couple day get away. Do not have high expectations and you'll be fine. This is second rate everything crew, entertainment, food etc... Not a bad thing but its reality. Long gone are this ships trip to Vince and Barcelona, now it's a Grey Hound Bus of the sea, but 10 times better than the last ship.

I'm from Freeport Bahamas im goin soon and this will be my 2nd time. 2st was when I was Classica. Look forward to really exploring this time. I'll try to come back with updated. Great video thanks

I actually don't mind that the ship is 30 years old. I'm a big fan of overall vehicle recycling, environmentally speaking, so long as it remains safe and comfortable. Even increased fuel efficiency doesn't usually outweigh new production environmental costs, at least for many years. We scrap too much and use too many new resources anyway! Bravo Margaritaville! We are cruising on this ship for the first time this June!

We just paid $250 for a balcony cabin on the Regal Princess 5 days. Yup, $50 a night. The Regal includes the items that are upcharges on the Margaritaville. Plus the Regal was a lot more attractive. And everything worked. We can't see paying almost $100 per night for a window cabin plus all those upcharges.

I just got back yesterday. It was not a good value at all. Much better and cheaper cruises than Margaritaville. The hidden charges are ridiculous. Never again on Margaritaville.

I'm going Sunday. I'm excited. Looks like a nice cruise to me but I have been on a cruise in 20 years.

My Best Friend and I are Military and booked a free Hero Cruise for Feb 2023. I definitely don’t mind the up charges because the price is so affordable. I’m an avid cruiser with Carnival. But decided to give MVS a try.

I had the upmost Awesome time on this Ship 🚢 😍

This is basically a booze cruise 🛳 which is why so cheap. Eat and drink 🍸 and play in the Bahamas 🇧🇸 It's a converted ferry not a ultra luxury liner

My wife and I rank in the 6 out of 10 as Parrot Head fans, we actually have see Jimmy Buffett in WPB twice. We love to cruise and are NCL cruisers and we have been on 10 total cruises. All but 1 out of Port Canaveral or Miami and last year out of Seattle for a Alaska cruise. I have seen several times in the Bahamas the Costa ship and although it sailed out closer to us West Palm Beach (we live in Port St. Lucie) with mostly no balconies and a older ship we were never interested. So when the hype of Margaritaville at sea began we were very interested. We could handle a ocean view room for a Jimmy Buffet cruise and to party Margaritaville style! Thank you so much for this video and hopefully things will improve, a quick cruise just an hour away from home would be awesome! I have subscribed to your channel.

In my opinion - I would taken Carnival Sensation from carnival ( do 3 - 4 nights cruises to Key West Florida, Bimini Bahamas / 4 nights - Half Moon Cay - I would partner with Carnival corporation , Bimini Bahamas , day at sea I would do kept Waterpark and some other things - if they gotten that ship from carnival cruise.

Im taking this short cruise with my husband for my birthday next week on the 11th. My fare was free bc of me being first responder. Now i have mixed feelings after this video

We had the same happen, filled out.a thing at the mall and won, there are a lot of fess involved after winning and you do wind up paying over a $1000 when all is said and done. We leave next month March 30th. You leave at 5pm from Florida and get to the Grand Bahama Island they next morning around 9am so probably will only get dinner and maybe some drinks, maybe enjoy a show or just relax and unwind so not really too worried about the fact they don't have much to do on it, it's literally taking us to the Island and back so all our fun will be on the resort. You could $50 each way per person to upgrade to a room with a window but we chose not to since it will be dark and we will just be going to the room to sleep anyway, LOL! We chose the option to stay at The Wyndham Viva Fortuna All-Inclusive Beach Resort, paid $180 to upgrade to an ocean view room, and still have a balance of $953 so when they tell you that you receive a "FREEE" 4 day 3 night Bahama vacation it's absolutely not free, not sure how they get away with that but they do. Here are the "FREE" fees. 1. $40 Account setup fee so you have an online portal to log into to view your trip, fees, communicate, etc. 2. $87.50 Cruise Administration Fee for the cruise there and back per person so a total of $350, 3. Port & Service Fees for the whole trip $258, and last but not least 4. Resort Fees & Resort Taxes for the week for each person for $951, for a grand total of $1551 for the 'FREE" Bahama Vacation, still not sure how that can be classified as "FREE" but it is. We didn't complain since we figured had we paid for it ourselves it probably would have been more but that 'FREE" vacation sure as hell ain't "FREE". Will follow up and let ya know how it went though.

Decidedly "not ready for prime time," including an inaugural sailing. It appears at least one more refit and refurbishment is necessary and not just using a piecemeal solution . If the line wants to compete with the big boys major/minor repairs are paramount. Up-charges are shortsighted and premature, and should be postponed until Margaritaville at Sea determines what the traffic will bear. Sure, with more training and time using a permanent crew the service necessarily will improve. But for the present, the word I'd use is "sad."

The brand could be a great cruise line, with some work.

Honestly I have never taken a cruise before. I live 10 min from the Port of Palm Beach so I'm looking forward to going for the first time. I got mixed feelings after watching this video though. I think I rather spend a little more money and go to a more updated one.

Motel 6 of the seas

I noticed on Deck 14 there was a dartboard. Does anyone know whether it’s for plastic or steel tipped darts?

Some of the carpet and furniture on the ship looks very dated, but I still like to go on it at least once.

Sounds like a real drag. We are avid cruisers and I would’ve been pissed.

Is this that old Bahamas celebration they just renamed it and but a few new orange and blue chairs lol

We went back in January. We had a pretty good time, but this ship is definitely not for everyone!

Thank you for this video! I was so curious about this new cruise line theme of Margaritaville. I have to say I’m not impressed. You would not know it was Margaritaville at sea except at the only it’s 5 o’clock somewhere bar. The lido deck is truly sad looking. I will take a pass on this cruise ship. It’s too dated for me. Thank you again.

We went on this cruise back in Feb 2015. There was nothing to do because it was a brand new cruise. Yeah, the ship is old but it was good for a first time cruiser.

I wish the reviewers had been Buffett fans. I was hoping to get a feel for if you feel the true “Margaritaville lifestyle” vibe on the ship. The people will bring that. The physical attributes are secondary. Especially on a 2 day cruise..

Going on this cruise 11/8. They actually had a deal where my husband sails for free because he is a veteran. We only paid 4275 total with port fees and taxes. Can’t wait.

Exactly. Not really free when you have all those upcharges. Not being ungrately, I am military and would only pay taxes too for a limited time, but after all those upcharges, it isn't really worth it. I can go on a 5 day cruise on Royal Caribbean and spend alot less.

Looks and sounds dated. I can’t imagine this ship having a long sailing future, and it’s already 30 yrs old. Carnival just retired many of its ships in that age group..and only two day cruises.

It seems like you are comparing this ship to a brand new ship, finding fault with everything….You can’t really compare apples to oranges. It looks lovely for what it is and the specific price point. It’s an older ship, on it’s inaugural sailings. Your review seems unfair.

I agree with you Nancy Maldonado. Although the video of all the places on the ship were crisp and entertaining, the narrator was very condescending in his attitude towards the ship. I’ve read some newer reviews and they were good. Also, the narrator left out the veranda suites of which were extremely upgraded. I would turn the narration off and just watch the video without the sound. I found the narrator extremely unprofessional.

Seems to just be me, but the vibes of the ship is just not there. It seems very empty, budgeted, and less of a vacation. I get that it’s a start up to industrializing Margaritaville, but it just doesn’t look the best. 🤷‍♀️

This would be pperfect gor me. Z perdon eho hates crowds and fear of long periods at the deep sea far from civilization and shores. In addition many bahamian natives use to go to the ststes to shop and bring back essentials cheaply as too expensive to fly for them to do these things. Prior to the retirement of the discovery shipthat went regularly to ft Lauderdale port i think it wa, this the next best deal. Especially for those who hate snd afrsid to fly. I also think important to offer cruises for a wider price range as this does so more perdons are afforded yhe experience. The tickets for travel and sleep accommodations are rather cheap so im not surprised at upcharge. On the other cruises are hundreds snd thousands more so of course more inclusive. Yo sound like you are paying comparable with no upcharge which is not so. You rxpect slot for do little it seems. It cost for all these updates ehich could never compete with modern day. They are hust trying to salvage and give experience for those who can appreciate some simplicity, less crowd and cost effectiveness of whst you chose.

About 10 years ago we got free passes for this cruise ship by sitting through a time share scam. It was dated af even then. You couldn't pay me to get on this ship again !! Avoid at all cost
