Klopt. Mocht ook wat kosten met de VOC, WIC, Afghanistan 20 jaar kapot gemaakt, Irak een flink aantal jaren, Nederland-Indonesië, hooligans van Feyenoord die in Rome alles kapot maakte, willem Holleeder, moet ik doorgaan?

I’ve been doing a research about this, because I had the same doubt. This is a long judicial process called the Marengo Process, the lawyers, judges and many others needed special protection during the lawsuit process

Bedankt, het risico op een gevaarlijke situatie in zo'n proces en het transport daarvan is reëel. Vandaar dat er flink op geanticipeerd wordt.

Mooie auto's. Rijd zelf ook met een zwarte S klasse en je ziet de politie best vaak naar binnen kijken of er een "collega" in zit.😂

Waarom hebben ze de S Class gekozen als ik vragen mag. Ik vind Range, X5, Jeep meer passend als gepantserde wagen. Ze zijn groot, hoog, kunnen andere voertuigen ''makkelijker'' over de weg duwen als de pleuris uitbreekt. S classes zijn '' lomp'' vind ik.

Een gepantserde s klasse is ook zwaar genoeg om anderen makkelijk van de weg te duwen en heeft een lager zwaarte punt wat ook nog eens beter is voor snel bocht werk

Dus? Dan moeten ze het lekker in Vught gaan houden in een bunker onder de grond dan is deze hele poppenkast ook niet nodig. En wat denk je wat dit allemaal kost iedere keer weer van Vught naar Amsterdam en weer terug van ons belastinggeld. De vlag gaat bij mij uit als de Bunker gesloten wordt want alles en iedereen moet maar wijken midden in de woonwijk en winkelgebied voor dat tuig.

@@edwinf4713 Idd wat een vernietiging van belastinggeld. Een Argentijnse Transavia piloot gooit ze er gratis boven de noodzee ergens uit. Om nog maar te zijgen wat de komende 30 jaar opsluiting in de EBI gaat kosten van 1 persoon (13.169 *12)*30= 4,7Milj.

It is a fully armored vehicle (which also weighs quite heavy) with armored rims and a sticker on it for cool... I think 😄

Klopt, maar bewust voor gekozen. Dit omdat NOS beelden van de wagens online heeft met de kentekens etc. En dit omdat mede daardoor blurren weinig zin meer heeft. Bijna alle kentekens zijn al online te vinden, dus er was/is weinig meerwaarde aan blurren.

Ook al nieuwe S klasses joh? Waren de oude niet goed genoeg :P

Wagens worden zo dusdanig gebruikt dat vervanging van belang geweest zal zijn.

Die gepantserde voertuigen zijn niet goedkoop

Why do the NL have so many armored luxury cars for these special units? It seems like almost any special unit there drives either armored luxury cars or armored Land cruisers, how come?

With the added weight of the armour you need a powerful engine. So it is cheaper to start with a car with a powerful engine to begin with. As an added measure they want the armoured cars to be able to drive fast so it is much harder to intercept them. Also when driving these speeds you would want a car that is safe(er) when crashing. And I don't know about the other brands but mercedes and BMW make armoured cars themselves. I don't know which vehicles but I know they have armoured cars that can drive around 300km/h . If you want that there are not many options to start with

@@Fafavie Well, it seems unlikely that any armored car can drive 300, maybe 180-190 at max. The S-class in AMG 63 version can hit around 300 on top, without armor. With armor it's under 200 afaik.

@@AMT-cx7jw yes, Audi limits the A8 Security to 210 km/h and Mercedes limits the S class Guard to 190 km/h. This is because of the tires being the limiting factor: Having to carry around 4 tonnes of weight and having run-flat capability can't be had with top speed capabilities

Also a big plus is that all these cars come armored from factory, so it is easier to lease them or get good deals on them from the manufacturer as a government institution. But it also surprises me how they also use really new cars like the latest A8 and S680 in these security detail convoys. In Germany the latest models usually just get ordered for use in protecting high state and federal government officials and then get handed down to the police for security details or to the swat-like special units that can also make use of armored vehicles. By then they are so relatively cheap, with a used car value of 250.000 to 100.000 Euros, that it would be more expensive to give these police units less luxurious, but specially made armored vehicles like armored lower grade suvs or sedans

@@PaganiZondaF650hp Yeah thats true. I also found it odd how escorts to CIT vehicles are usally S-guards or A8 HS, but guess its because its ex head of state cars. I suppose the dutch government leased these, because it is surprising. I'm not sure, but I think we also upgraded the PM car here to the newest A8 HS, like the british PM got one recently, because Jag doesnt make the XJ anymore. But for SFO it can be reeeally hard to get in and out of an S-class with all their gear. Especially dutch SFO... Its hard to step into an S-class for a tall person in a suit too...
