Marduk was and still is a useless PoS. His title "King of the Gods" was SELF GIVEN / Proclaimed. The Enuma Elish was written LONG after all of the actual events actually took place. Events which the other Gods & Goddesses actually did and were involved in. The things all of them accomplished, he took credit for himself, including those of Enki & Enlil. That line & path is eventually where all the "chistian" bullshit originated. Much much later in history, being adopted by Rome and set forth as official narrative.

However, I would like to know the source from which you drew (in The Epic of Erra) to declare that Marduk absents himself from Babylon after sensing an imbalance, to regenerate in the waters of Absu. However, the official source of the 5 tablets found (signed by Kabti-ilani-Marduk) reports that he was convinced by the god Erra to leave Babylon advising him of the need to restore and clean up Marduk's insignia. Furthermore, still in the tablets, Marduk tries to recover his insignia but it is ultimately Isum who manages to appease Erra. Marduk's return to Babylon is not narrated, nor is there an agreement with Erra. The fifth tablet concludes with further praise to the god Erra and a warning to the Babylonians to repect and glorify Nergal.Thank's for your job.
