Shout out New York came here on my trip in January had to see the legendary building so much history, much love from Los Angeles 🙏🏼

east ny, the stuy, the ville, flatbush, red hook, canarsie, downtown brooklyn, crown heights, fort greene, clinton hill, bushwick....gotta love BROOKLYN!!!!!!!

The number of legends who actually lived in the Marcy project housings alone is unreal.. They can make that into a museum... Jay Z, Tracy Morgan, Papoose, Mos Deff, Memphis Bleak... and more.

Papoose is not from Marcy.neither is ashy larry not tracy morgan.papoose is from bed stuy but not marcy.tracy morgan is from Tompkin projects which is a block away from marcy.and ashy larry aka donnell rawlings is from Washington DC 🤦

I. Knew a girl named Papoose who lived in my building in the Marcy. When I washed the windows she would spit on them. That's the Marcy projects. Dangerous and low class people I'm glad I survived My time there

Looks like a chill and peaceful Neighborhood

This breaks my heart. So many buildings. Put all the poor people together, away from everyone & everything else. Part of me thinks it could be a nice, quiet looking place to raise kids but the buildings don’t look homey. They look hopeless. Too same. This is wrong.

My parents, siblings and I used to live there on 35 Nostrand Ave in the 60’s to 70’s.

Marcy Projects + Rove Projects = Rove Families

My husband grew up I'm the Marcy. I told him you can find anything on KZread. He said you won't find the Marcy houses. Thank you for proving me right 😀 It was crazy how much gentrification there is now Thanks for the trip down memory land👏

@@plinhart1224 I grew up there...it's definitely a different animal than it was in the 80s and definitely the 90s.things still happen but it was the wild wild west when I was coming up
