ABOUT THIS CONCERT
Among the greatest electric bassists in the history of the instrument, Marcus Miller is a jazz renaissance man - a multiple GRAMMY-winning producer, arranger, keyboardist, bass clarinetist, bandleader and in-demand film composer who has been heard on hundreds of recordings, was instrumental to Miles Davis’ resurgence in the 1980s, and collaborated with everyone from Dizzy Gillespie and McCoy Tyner to Paul Simon and Frank Sinatra. Following his guest appearances with Herbie Hancock during Season 2, Miller returned to the Miner stage in June 2018 with his remarkable young quintet including saxophonist Alex Han, trumpeter Marquis Hill, keyboardist Brett Williams, and drummer Alex Bailey. The brought a seamless blend of jazz, funk, and modern R&B captured on Miller’s GRAMMY-nominated 2018 Blue Note album, Laid Black.

Alex Han’s approach to every note is so intentional - NOTHING is wasted each line fits and none of his solo feels like licks he just practices. 🤌🏽 As an alto player, his mastery is inspiring and demoralizing at the same time. Love that ish

This groove is gangsta! ♨
Yes, Mr Marcus Miller , the best bassplayer.
Man, he’s the best at it .
I don’t why I didn’t go to this, hopefully he performs again in the bay
Man I’m still listen to this song.
The legendary and one and only Mr. Marcus Miller. I recall being a witness to Mr. Miller's incredible performance of this very track at the Village Underground in the West Village with Dean Brown on lead guitar and Poogie Bell on drums amongst other exceptional musicians.

Hate to say it, but I saw him do this last summer with his new band and it was significantly better. 🙈 Something feels off here, its swinging weird.
Its ok to not like the over done horns. Miller is epic but man I get very board of the brass
