The way that amount is calculated is by how man 20ft containers it can hold. Divide that amount in half and its a little over 8 thousand containers

@@stooges2967 oh, thanks for that info. Yeah, 16000, I thought that had to be wrong. And even 8000, that's mind boggling itself. Each of those being the back of a big truck. Unreal.

Yes, as Stooges pointed out there, 20ft. And apparently the biggest ships can carry 21000 of those. TEUs - twenty foot equivalent units. And Marco Polo can take 16020, right enough. According to the picture on this link, the 20 foot container looks also standard to what's on the road, or I guess it might be the 40 foot, or 2 of these, that are on the big semi trucks (I've no idea).
