Attacks don't pass through him. They hit but he just heals them immediately after. There is no proof of him having the aspects of a logia fruit and as it was even stated by Oda that it's a Zoan and Zoan alone.

It was at this moment marco single handedly become the cause of death of 2 yonko

It would be stupid of Big Mom to leave her own territory undefended. So since she came to Wano herself, Katakuri is really the only one she could leave behind to do so.
