The clause that says etali cant completely whiff seems unnecessary. I think its a design mistake if ppl never want to flip the card. Its not like the back is bad…its a friggin blightsteel colossus lol.

Yep incredibly strong with no chance of whiffing. Overall a teribble card design and mistake to have been made I think.

If you bring back Kinsbaile Cavalier on the first strike and give Jabari double strike you could get two knights back in one turn.

Wow, I though they were being mean by not letting the Jeska’s Will resolve, but now I see why! It literally took one turn for Etali to take control of the game. Loved the Kroxa Kunoros deck.

Don’t know how much it would help but Chris can actually response to the K grip by saccing creatures to altar due to it being a mana ability which is one of the few things split second doesn’t stop.

Kroxa & Kunoros seems better in actuality than I'd thought! Etali is messed up. Z&D is my kind of deck but you were probably right to target them so early. Love the "trigger" labels on the cards, very helpful

Seems to be one of the harder EDH-Games. Very powerful cards on the table.

Solid game this week! Sucks that Jabari didn’t go as crazy as I’ve seen knight tribal go but that eminence feels like it’s gonna be strong. Really cool decks this week too!

That new etali is a flickering fevered suspicion......I love that card so I definitely need to build this deck....

Love to see K & K! I'm building him myself. I think he was deemed a boogyman really fast bc of the combo with Altar of Dementia so my group is terrified. He doesn't seem that crazy outside of that combo though.

Granted Im only 4:41 into the video but in one turn the Knights player bashed the Zimone and Dina player for the third time, countered the Etali player's big Jeska's Will and StP'd the Kroxa and Kunoros's commander ... I imagine a lot of hate coming back your way.

Scute swarm should’ve triggered a lot more. Should’ve been 2 then 4,8,16,32,64,128 and finally ending at 256.

Your statement would be true if each land entered the battlefield separately, however they all enter at the same time. The existing scute swarms trigger for each land that entered and create a copy of scute swarm. The new copies of scute swarm do not see any land fall trigger because the land is already on the battlefield when it is created, therefore there is no exponential growth. Just 14 new scute swarms because 7 lands entered and there were 2 scute swarms already out

Many of the pieces are pretty cheap to make it work. At least for a build like this where you just want to cast your opponents stuff. Might spike a bit, but should go down in time.

So as luck would have it, I bought the knights precon and I'm taking apart my Jodah deck to build etali. I love your gameplay and layout, but I do think that poor Sidar Jabari was at a table of titans where he was but a man!

Gravitated to etb abuse as soon as she was spoiled. And had the whole deck constructed waiting on etali to take her place. Pulled a foil showcase at prerelease and it just seems destined.

One Etali cast and the table is completely overpowered. It was a really good set of hits but Damn that's strong.

Bring a board game to work

Fun game overall though it shows why personally I have a disdain for Etali. You can get a mega advantage and win not because you played smart or such but because you got lucky in what you pulled from your opponents deck and won with your opponents own cards. Won due to luck and rng more then anything. The other commanders I liked.

Etali is such a snoozer

Glad that Etali was able to do its thing despite being late to the party. Now hopefully we can see Ghalta and Mavren soon

Will you be playing these decks again in a rematch?

How have you liked Sidar? I picked up the deck yesterday, tweaked it and played it in a few games. I think it's a bit over-hyped, though it is fun. My main problem is that I feel like it's too linear. Watching the other guys in this game make a million tokens or reflicker etali makes that one reanimate per turn kinda unimpressive. I had a Syr Gwyn deck that I at least felt like I was cheating with all the equipment shenanigans. I wish there were knights with better ETBs to abuse.

BK shared: So far I like it a lot. I agree that there is a limit to how powerful it can be, but quite frankly that's the sort of gameplay we aim at, so it works for us so far. Also, I'm not that smart so linear gameplay is probably fine lol. Access to esper colors mostly means that I can remove/counter important stuff and evade with my commander to reanimate a few times. The pain point for me is that you're looking at about 3-5 reanimation effects depending on the length of the game. Maybe 1 more if you have greaves/boots in play before casting Sidar. But at the end of the day, it's fun, it draws cards, and it reanimates stuff. I enjoy all of those things quite a bit :)

At that time, BK had only cast Sidar from the commander zone once. The first time Sidar died, he kept it in the graveyard and reanimated it. So the tax at 6:30 was 2 🐱🤗. Keep in mind, commander tax only looks at how many times the commander was cast from the command zone in a game, not how many times it died.

I don't understand why you three were focusing so hard on reach other in the he beginning, leaving the Etali player alone until he started blinking and it was too late. Etali is always a big threat regardless of which version of Etali

Dont you get 6 insect tokens from scapeshit and only the 7th land give you the copy of scute swarm? Since each land etb is a separate trigger

Not quite. Scapeshift had 7 lands enter the battlefield at the same time. The triggered ability of the 2 scute swarms hits the stack and then resolve. When they resolve, they check to see how many lands the player has upon resolution. There were 7 lands in play when the ability resolved, therefore a copy of scute swarm is created.
