March 7, 2021 Stinking Toe; Tinkin' Toe; Locust
Locust in Jamaica is not an insect. It's a very large tree which bears an edible fruit/pod with a very tough exterior. The other names are 'Stinking Toe' or 'Tinkin' Toe'.
It doesn't have a pleasant smell when it is wet or damp, hence the name 'Stinking Toe.
In addition to wearing a mask, your task for this post is to put in the comments what the remedy is if you choke while eating Stinking Toe. Let the Jamaican culture live!

We also have Locust fruit in Africa. Sweet, but but if you don't wash your mouth after eating it, it stinks. The seed too is dried and made into a powder. This is used in tradition soups.
