Marcellus Wiley on Kaepernick, Antonio Brown, Jay Z, Andrew Luck (Full Interview)

Ойын-сауық

Marcellus Wiley stopped by VladTV for another interview, and this time he shared his thoughts on Colin Kaepernick after gaining attention for previously pointing out missteps he thinks Kaepernick has made with his cause. Wiley also spoke on Kaepernick's girlfriend Nessa bashing black men and Kaepernick being raised in a white family.
During the interview, Marcellus addressed Antonio Brown's helmet grievance being denied, Andrew Luck walking away from $500 million, and Jay-Z's involvement with the NFL. You can hear the full interview above.

@@kingfreak8548 Kaepernick doesn't need anyone "defending" him, he hasn't committed a crime. It's up to each individual to choose a side or sit on the sidelines. For me I damn sure ain't gonna side with Roger Goodell and the NFL. As for anyone with a critique of Kaepernick, I ask, what are you doing other than taking shots at a man who stood up for all of us? Both of these dudes, DJ Vlad and M. Wiley, are sitting on the sidelines passing criticism. Wiley in particular talking about what Kaepernick should have done, when he as a black man with a platform ain't doin shit but talkin shit and collecting a check. At the end of the day I'm always gonna respect the man that made a stand over the man that sat on his ass and criticized the man who took a stand.

@@PabloGarcia-eo7zf what makes you think he was looking to start a "movement"? He began sitting during the anthem and made no statements about it until he was asked. As far as what he's done on his own all you have th o do is search Google to see that he's done plenty. Everything you hear about Kaepernick is people giving their opinion on him. He's not talking because he's already made his point. What's he supposed to be saying now? Instead of criticizing him be critical of the people with the power to change police policy. He's not obligated to lead anyone anywhere except when he was allowed to do his job as a quarterback. He's never claimed to be anyone's leader outside of that. Yet he's actually been leading... by example.

I hated Wiley, he was a terror against my team. However, as a man, he is very insightful. On the topic of Kaepernick, he spoke words straight from my mouth. On issues in the black community...again, he speaks the truth. Too many ignorant people link Race and Class. there is a difference. I believe Wiley should speak up more on these sensitive topics. Just too bad, many blacks would discredit him because the truth hurts. A black man, struggling with racism, poverty, and now successful not only at football but at an Ivy League school, it throws a wrench in the "Black movement" and water down the racism points that blacks can't get ahead. Salute Wiley

Yea, he donated his check after when many veterans reacted initially. But to think giving money would make what he did was right? its no difference than him accepting a check from the league for his silence. He was doing ok, but he disappeared didn't speak out in public, all you hear Reid saying about him , or Nessa, then you have Malcolm Jenkins with the players association it looks like a whole bunch of people driving the car on a highway with one steering wheel and they all fighting to where the wheel is going to turn. To proclaim that Kappernick was the greatest civil rights activist? is reaching, its like MLK directing people to cross the bridge but he never walks with the people he is directing from the other side.

Mark Zabala no one proclaimed he was the greatest civil rights activist, but do you know the work he has done? And most people say put your money where your mouth is. The cowboys as an organization took a knee for equality. The flag wasn’t on the field nor military. People in the stadium booed. It was never about him kneeling it was about the issue. Who boos equality. But then again I’m sure people booed “I have a dream” as well.

I like Wiley and how he's calling-out the people who deserve to be called-out, but I don't think he's stepped-back far enough to realize that he's only at the midway point in terms of seeing the actual issue in its entirety. For example, all of the things he's saying about Kaepernick are objectively true, but he loses sane people when he says that Michael Eric Dyson is a mentor of his, when he's perpetuating the exact issues Wiley is saying he wants fixed. And if we're being honest, the actual issue aren't about "systemic issues," because the government don't have laws that actively hold people down as their intent (in effect that's what they partially do, but still not enough to warrant blaming that before the individual), but they're about the Marxist lens that people like Dyson view the world through. Nothing's going to actually get better until people realize that the individual means more than the collective, and in the absence of concrete, undeniable evidence of things above the individual preventing them from success (whatever that may be to the individual), the issue is with the individual and their life choices. That's not to say there aren't some plagues on the US that negatively impact everyone, you just have to look at the single motherhood rate and the nonsensical shitty laws if you want examples, but those don't force people to make poor life choices. Sure, it's a real swift kick in the dick to not have a father help raise you and you may not grow-up with any significant amount of money (that term being wildly vague for a reason), but those don't bar you from finishing high school, not committing crimes, and not having a kid out of wedlock. And the fact that people like Dyson have the audacity to perpetuate that awfulness by lying to kids and telling them that their choices don't actually matter since "the system" will constantly oppress them is among the most disgusting things imaginable.

Tom storm do you know the actual work he has done, or just the bits and pieces fed in a news cycle. His organization is about empowering young people of color to know their rights. If he was Ron Paul and a constitutionalists people in this country would praise his work. Instead half this country ignores the actual work this man has done. Also Nate Boyer a vet suggested kap kneel to show more respect. Before he was just sitting. But again if you only get fed what’s in a news cycle you’ll never know.

Wiley did in-fact inject salient points. The problems here are on several levels. First, he is acting as if Kaepernick was doing this without any pushback from the NFL - all the way up to the President of the United States. Has Marcellus ever had to stay focused in a struggle - with the moniker of most hated man in America? Has he had the stress of constant death threats by people who misrepresent his position. That is a NO! He says he stayed silent for 3 years. Why? If you see opportunities to help, reach out to Kap to broaden his understanding and get things done. He says he knew him sort of - so why not get to know him for the good of a cause that you both consider worthy? We can all be triers of fact - after the fact. There are so many things wrong with demonizing someone who is actually on the ground - grinding. Either stand with him and help him where he needs it, or stay in the shadows and talk about sports.

Wiley is so smart, he's stupid. He talks about Kaep opting out of his contact like it was a lost opportunity for him. He was going to be released if he didn't opt out. That makes a difference but Wiley, who talks sports for a living and played the game, knows this said different otherwise. VLAD and Wiley also said Kaep signed a NDA voluntarily but that's not Kaep's choice on his own. This also wasn't about money. If it was, the NFL would've settled long time ago. This case was now getting down to all the depositions and Kaep wasn't going away. The owners didn't want their lies to come out and that's why they settled, not just to make the case go away. Wiley said a lot of other stuff after he was called on his BS but now he's switching up. Can't do this whole video. Don't go back to VLAD, go talk to Roland Martin, or somebody who can speak to these issues. Don't think that's going to happen.

Shame!!!!! is what makes these older athletes talk down on Kap. Because all these years of having a public stage and they were quite about the injustices of their people. You can tell how out of touch he is, by him thinking racial injustice only happens to us in lower income areas. I’ve lived in South Central, Inglewood and much nicer parts of L.A. and got the same treatment everywhere. I can give first hand testimony that we get guns pulled on us in middle and upper class neighborhoods too. So all those Black Struggle War Stories he’s rambling about, that supposedly made him more qualified then Kap. Just shows how unqualified he is to speak on the matter. Wrote of taxes with a few Turkey give aways, a few In School and After School Programs and they think they did something.

Collin Kaepernick took a stand. He has gone out on a limb at a risk to himself. Realizing, and being cognizant of what could help, why did you not assist Collin Kaepernick? Also, if Collin Kaepernick's "biography", namely his racial history was not so important, why spend so much time, effort, and energy making it so important to his legitimacy in taking this stand?

Mr. Marcellus Wiley, is right on my issues and also VERY wrong as well.. 1. Egyptian is a nationality, not all Egyptians are of Arab origin. Marcellus Wiley is not an authority on blackness, there are many Nubian or Afro-Asiatic tribes in Egypt. 2. I would never sit down or kneel for the flag, however, I do not question Colin Kaepernick's motives. 3. Obama was not raised up around blacks black Americans consider him black.. 4. I would choose Kaepernick over Obama, he went hard and lost everything. IN EVERY RACE YOU HAVE AN ELEMENT OF HATERS AND DISAPPROVERS... I AM NOT A HUGE FAN OF COLIN KAEPERNICK BUT I DON'T LIKE THE WAY THIS GUY IS TRYING TO PORTRAY HIM.. I WOULD CHOOSE KAEPERNICK ANY DAY OVER THIS FOOL, AT LEAST HE HAS PRINCIPLES AND A RIDER FOR THE CAUSE.
