Join Marc Nelson and Christi McGarry as they explore the wonders of Baja California Sur in Mexico!
First off they go to the seaside town of Puerto Chale to meet the friendly grey whales of the lagoons, where they come to breed and give birth each year.
Next up, our hosts visit the artistic cafe/restaurant of Polvora to meet the owner, Fernanda who explains the concept behind their art space/restaurant in the middle of a cactus forest and invites them to try some of the “Mexiterranean” food.
To cap off their day, Marc and Christi try night time Paddleboarding with the unique see through and lit up paddle boards of Lights Up Paddleboarding.
The next day it’s time to hit the mountain trails around El Sargento for some world class mountain biking with amazing views of the sea.
For the sustainability segment of the show, Marc interviews Javier of the No Mas Basura NGO to learn more about their locally based cleanup drives, environmental education program and recycling procedures.
Then our hosts visit Casa Xolo restaurant to meet the ancient Xolo dogs and for an awesome inspiring 7 course meal by chef Fabiola, who uses simple and traditional ingredients to create delicious culinary masterpieces. A lot of “best I’ve ever had” experiences by our hosts here.
The episode caps things off with an incredible ocean safari with Baja Wild Encounters out into the sea of Cortez, nicknamed the “world’s aquarium”, where our hosts spend a few hours getting close to, and even swimming with an enormous pod of over 20 Orcas of all sizes, and watch as they hunt, feed and play. Truly a once in a lifetime experience.
