    I agree, but I think the problem is that the rest of the members of Queen don't want someone that sounds like Freddie for whatever reason. There is the fact of possible accusations of 'copying' Freddie and that they are trying to live off of 'Freddie's coattails' or maybe it will 'spook' them, or they decided to 'move on'. Either way it's a stupid idea NOT to put him out front.

  • @breacepeace

    And it's a shame. In my opinion, Marc Martel has the necessary qualities to sing with Queen. Perhaps many people differ by the fact that they already admire Adam Lambert. But Freddie Mercury got used to his powerful voice. Some people comment that Freddie, for the 21st century, had a very stylized vision about Queen's music. Still, I think, the band should consider looking for a strong vocalist, because, Queen is a band, not a person. As I said in another publication: Queen should sound like QUEEN ... And Adam Lambert is perfect for bands like NSYN'C, BackstreetBoys, Five, or any other that reveals the thirty-something that I am. When Paul Rodgers participated, I liked him more. He is a contemporary rockstar with the band, he knows about rock, his voice is strong, rugged. That's what I mean. They wanted to give Adam the opportunity to go out, once and for all, to do concerts and fully enjoy each staging, but if he had the opportunity to go to a current concert, he would do it for Brian, for Roger and for the image of Freddie that will appear on screen singing Love Of my Life. It was a pleasure to answer you, Ron Cluney.

  • @QueenCelebrationLive

    @QueenCelebrationLive

    6 жыл бұрын

    Ron Cluney Journey didn't care about that crap when they hired Arnel Pineda, and they are not only still touring, but also released two albums with the new lead singer. They finally realized that Steve Perry's voice is _legendary_ and gave up the idea of reinventing the wheel, especially when it comes to doing the old hits from the 80s.

  • @roncluney859

    @roncluney859

    6 жыл бұрын

    Exactly as I said. Didn't want to 'copy', you used 'legendary'. Same meaning. Ultimately, it's all up to you guys whatever decisions you come up with. I just know there would be a large following if Marc was in that position, but it's not up to me, or the hundreds of thousands (or more) fans and followers out there. ;) And for the record, I don't listen to the 'new' journey, since I don't think anyone has even come close to sounding like Steve Perry (not anywhere near what Marc can do as far as sounding like Freddie), and I want to listen to Journey, not some other band, which without Steve Perry is exactly what they are.

    MockupRender They are doin' alright commercially and still packing stadiums, so no mistakes on their part. But at some point they've almost abandoned QuEx. In an entire year of 2017 there was 1 (one) QE show and that was in Hawaii. That's why Marc had arranged his own tribute band called Ultimate Queen Celebration and brought back two ex-QE members Tristan Avakian and Brandon Ethridge.

    Just because you make money doesn't make it good.People still go to Kanye and he makes money like crazy. It doesn't mean he goes down into rock history. And his songs are very forgettable. Again money doesn't make it good or legendary. The songs Queen made with Freddie are timeless, so its just an easy score. just cheap to my opinion. Freddie always stood for giving the best performance, also compared to other bands. If I have to compare the vibe Marc martel gives to the crowd and how Lamberts crowd looks like on the dvd. I just have to conclude that lambert is not on the same level as Marc(voice wise for sure). Also its genetics that Marcs voice is similar to Freddies. nothing short of a miracle also. He has way more songs that are not ment to be an impression of Freddie, and he still has the same qualities as Freddies voice.

    I saw Marc in Christchurch, New Zealand several weeks back. I'm still buzzing. He was simply unreal. One of the best shows I've seen in years. The band were incredible, but that voice.......... He is pretty damn close. I've also seen Q with Lambert live, and one of Adams most endearing qualities is that he's very respectful of the position that he is in, and doesn't pretend to be freddie at all, but......... they don't sound like Queen without freddie. There is no queen without Freddie, and Marc is not as good, but my god, he's pretty damn close on so many tracks. Adam has the stage flamboyance that Marc doesn't display in his performances though. Still - it's like U2 touring without Bono isn't it really ? I'd be more than happy to avoid the massive difference in ticket prices and just see Marc and his band again in the tribute act, after seeing them both, Marc's show was better than the original act in my opinion.

    You bring this song in 2018 with sobriety and modernity... kisses from Belgium I heard before you, Gary Mullen, a good singer, but when I heard you for the first time on your revisited Bohemian Rhapsody, it was difficult for me to keep my tears. Really beautifull... Please continue, do again and again... Don't stop it now! ;)
