This is a beautiful golf resort that is kept exceptionally clean and tidy. I've been coming here for ten years and it remains perfect and unspoilt. You don't have to be a golfer (like me) to enjoy this resort with its beautiful and lush surroundings.
With everything on site for residents, including communal pool, shops, services, paddle tennis, supermarket, and excellent restaurants, you'll see just how special this resort is and why people return year after year. It is safe and secure and family friendly - the perfect place to visit.
My video is a drive through experience of the resort's roads and takes in the sights and sounds along the way.
Be sure to LIKE this video and to SUBSCRIBE to my channel as I will be posting more videos of this resort plus the surrounding area.

I was there in 2006. That exit at the end I don't think that was there then.

Hi, sorry for the delay in replying. You're right, back in the day there was only one entrance and exit. The resort was smaller then too. I guess it made sense to add another entrance and exit point as it grew in size. Plus, having just one entrance and exit point isn't great, especially in an emergency. Hope you enjoyed my video. Best regards, Matt.

Hi Matt, are the apartments on the Boulevard ok to visit without a car? Buses to beach etc? Great vids by the way

Hi, I’m so sorry for lateness in replying, and thank you for the nice compliment. The Boulevard properties are very close to the golf resort, literally a stone’s throw from one of the entrances, so the location is very good and there are some reasonably priced restaurants and bars at the Boulevard too. I haven’t seen buses there but that’s not to say they don’t stop there, I just don’t know at the moment. The beach at Los Alcázares is about a 5-10 minute car journey and it’s a lovely area to visit. It has a beautiful promenade that goes on for miles, and it’s nice and flat - no hills or inclines and plenty of places to eat and drink. If you are planning to go, you won’t be disappointed. Once the current pandemic is manageable and we can travel again, do consider this area. If you have been, what did you think? Kind regards, Matt

Hi there, thanks so much for watching my videos and for your kind words. Thank you for your question, and I will do my best to answer by letting you know what I did when looking. We know that Murcia is a great region for climate, but it is also for value for money. About 15 years ago, and with these two points in mind, I decided to explore the region in the hope to find a small property to purchase. I was looking mainly for a holiday home but I would need to be able to rent it out when I wasn't using it. For me, I wanted a property in a golf complex, as I needed to maximise the year-round letting potential for times when I wouldn't be there, and my research showed that golf complex properties performed better on the whole. So, I spent months flying back and forth and tried to visit as many golf complexes as possible. On one visit, I managed to stay at the Intercontinental Hotel in the Mar Menor Golf Resort, and I loved it. The resort embodied everything I dreamed about, but unfortunately the property prices there were beyond my small budget. After much research and number crunching, I went for a one bedroom apartment in the Polaris World development called Las Terrazas De La Torre, as it's all I could afford that ticked every box in my 'must have' list. The development wasn't built and I reserved my plot off plan. Sadly, I had to pull out of the purchase and never did get the apartment. Around that time recession hit and I watched property prices fall lower and lower - the property I was due to buy was £92,000 off plan (I think) and a similar property dropped over time to £35,000 +/-. At that time, many new resorts were in the building pipeline and most were eventually built, but it was a slow process. It was a sad time as I saw many repossessions and resulting developments looked almost abandoned and not looked after. Jumping forward to now, the region has settled down a bit and prices are on the increase, but they still represent good value, in my opinion. Every time I return to Murcia, I see only one development that has ridden the storm of recession very well, and has flourished. It remains exceptionally clean and tidy and still has, as far as I am aware, many permanent residents (a good thing). It is the Mar Menor Golf Resort. I will be purchasing a property there in time and for me, the Mar Menor Golf Resort is the one that stands out for the right reasons. However, there are many golf resorts I haven't yet explored. If you head out a little way to Torrevieja, there are some very popular resorts and many courses. The ex-Polaris World resorts (excluding the Mar Menor resort mentioned above) are also worth a look (La Torre, El Valle, Las Terrazas De La Torre, Condado De Alhama, Hacienda Riquelme). The main factors in any property purchase are budget, location and research. Do as much research as you can - go see as many golf resorts as possible and be as objective as you can. Ask residents what they like about where they live and what they don't like. The more research you can do, the better. Don't rush into anything and never make a decision if you're having a bad day. Enjoy yourself while looking as it shouldn't be a bad experience. I hope this sheds a little light and confidence in you direction and let me know how you get on!

Hi Mark, thanks for watching and thank you for liking my video. Apologies for the delay in replying. The resort is one of my favourites and yes there are bars and restaurants on site. There's a wide mix of dining available and the eating places are: 1) Nomad restaurant - this is situated in the Intercontinental Hotel and offers amazing Spanish cuisine for dinner. I had a steak one time and it ranks up here with my top ten taste experiences! Try the paella, it is wonderful. This restaurant is not cheap, but the food preparation and taste is very good indeed. Breakfast is served in this restaurant for hotel guests. 2) Mizu - this is situated in the Intercontinental Hotel and is a Japanese restaurant. I haven't eaten here but my friends have, and they loved it. 3) The Club House - this is the club house for the golf course and I can highly recommend it. I've had many a burger here and the club sandwich is well worth it. It's not a stand alone restaurant as it is often quite busy with golfers having a drink, but the atmosphere is really great. There's outdoor seating and if you're playing golf, you can grab some breakfast too. There are/were communal ipads to use inside, which is a bonus! 4) Fontana Di Pietra - this is attached to the Intercontinental Hotel and it can be seen when driving toward the hotel. This is an Italian restaurant serving pizza and pasta. I've eaten here and it isn't expensive. 5) The Clover - this is an Irish themed pub and is a great place to start the evening. It is attached to the Intercontinental Hotel. I've eaten here and the food is good (nothing heavy going, mainly pub type food). 6) Al Fresco - this is an octagonal shaped (I think) bar that is situated next to the Intercontinental Hotel's pool. I don't think it serves food, but the drinks keep flowing. There's plenty going on at the resort in Summer and it's an excellent venue to sit outside eat, drink, and watch the amazing sunsets. I will be going back soon, hopefully as there is something about this resort that feels, for me, better than some others. It's hard to explain, but I think it has something to do with the way you feel very safe and secure. It's difficult to choose somewhere if you haven't been before, so please feel free to get in touch if you need anything more - I'm happy to help. If you do go, let me know what you think. All the best, Matt.

Hi, thanks for watching my video. I totally agree with you - it's a lovely resort and the bars and restaurants close by are great. Oh, the house I like on the resort is around 500,000 - 550,00 EUROS as of today's prices. One day...

Hi matt, i like ur videos. have you seen the bungalow one story villas? Are these villas too close to the road? So there are two gates?

Hi, thanks so much and I'm really pleased you're making contact. Yes I think I know the villas you mean. Am I correct in thinking you mean the ones with the flight of outside steps that leads to a large roof terrace? If so, I've stayed in a couple and they're great - Rondella style I think they may be called (I could be wrong). I saw one the other day for sale at 127,000 EUROS. I'm not sure of the location in the development or if it has a pool but it's not a bad price. There are quite a few and all are close to a road, but the roads within the complex are not congested and noisy. Yes that's right, there are two entrance and exit gates last time I was there. It makes sense as the development size increased somewhat.

Hi, there is a new attraction I've heard about called Terra Natura Murcia which is about 50-60 km from Mar Menor Golf Resort. Journey time is around 45 mins - 1 hour drive depending on traffic. I understand it has a water park in addition to other things. I haven't visited Terra Natura Murcia yet so I don't know what it is like. Have a look at its website, at: murcia.terranatura.com/en/index.html . Hope this helps, Thanks for getting in touch, Matt
