They have a problem with Mar Mari because he can't be bought or controlled. Who's asking you to hate him? The man basically teaches Nestorianism and refuses to call Mary "Theothokos" or "Mother of God", opting instead for "Christotokos" or "Mother of Christ". This is not a conversation to be had. This conversation already took place in the Council of Ephesus in 431 AD. It was settled then and it is settled now. Mar Mari Emmanuel preaches heresy and as such should be made anathema (Galatians 1:8). He can always repent, but he clearly won't.

He is not persecuted because of righteousness, however. He is made anathema for preaching heresy. He preaches Nestorianism, basically. Theotokos vs Christotokos. Christotokos is blasphemy and heresy and has been since 431 AD (Council of Ephesus). Look more into this before you judge the real Church of practicing Christian persecution.

I’m From Ethiopia God bless this true teacher, he has changed many people’s life through the years of his teachings. Although there are people who don’t appreciate his teachings they are true words from the Bible 🙏

I know this father thought has distortion on faith.. Nestorius faith is rejected by oriental orthodoxes. This father mentioned the cause for their suspension from the church but not tell us follower of Nestorius the rejected one.. You conflate God with the father or the essence. But Jesus is God and he was born. So Mary is the Mother of God. And we can't call her Christotokos because that denies Jesus divinity by just calling him a blessed person.

Same with the concept of the Theotokos. Just because something's not in the Bible does not make said thing inherently false.

If he is teaching heresies and falsehoods then it's a good thing. But in the case of Mari Mari who I don't think he has, although I've not heard every sermon he did of course. It makes the process a bit of a spectacle. Bear in mind some of the church councils that were mention in his defence speech were called to fight heresies and any bishops that didn't comply with the councils decisions were excommunicated from the church. The ancient Christian faiths do things a little differently to most modern day Protestant faiths. First we all have a hierarchy of clergyman whose whole life is to take care of the church in all meaning of the word (as a community and an institute of God), laypeople should be obedient to the clergymen. We don't see the Bible as the sole authority we have the traditions of the apostles and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, which we believe plays a guiding hand in the councils. You will find that these council are not called to often, and since the schism of 1054 there were only the 7, that were attended by both Eastern Orthodox and Catholics. The first 4 councils by all churches including the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido Bete Christian. Today the ancient churches are trying to reconcile their differences, and many don't really see that many differences today, especially if they don't come from the ancient churches. But there are differences of which we celebrating in some take the liturgy of the mass for example. Because of different Apostolic lineages we have slight differences in our liturgy which we all recognise to be from Christ through the apostles. The council were designed to keep the church in cohesion and unity with dogmas and doctrines. You see that there was great wisdom in practising these councils, as everything was document and we can see the different issues the church faced throughout it life. It's great source of history, theology and philosophy. As the greatest minds of the faith attended these councils, and maybe even the world one could argue.

When I have been referring to the councils they've been trying to protect what was taught by the apostles from even before the New Testament was written down. You would see that the councils were called because of heresies against the original faith that was taught to the apostles by Christ. You see the first council of Jerusalem in the book of Acts. Imagine the money a corrupt clerk could pocket through his own independent charity using his own popularity. It is a good rule imo. There is no limitation on how much charity you can do which is sponsored or directly done by the church.

I love and respect Mar Mari! He speaks the truth with great clarity and integrity! He’s the only one I trust to learn from the Bible.. I will never ever not follow him.. Corruption is everywhere. It is sad when churches are divided and corruption comes into the Church. Mar Mari seems like a genuine follower of Jesus Christ and a man of integrity and committed to the truth and righteousness. I am not orthodox but I do believe in Christ. I am a miserable sinner struggling to live in repentance and humility. May God sustain all of his servants and especially the ones who are being persecuted for their faithfulness. The world cannot be trusted but the Saviour and Lord, Christ Jesus can.

It is true that corruption has engulfed the earth and in all aspects of our lives. The fact is we exist in a global kakistocracy which continues to get worse with every generation. We are dealing with a one world confederacy of crooked governments, all we need now is for the anti-Christ to appear and Revelations will be proven correct. I don't have all the answers as a new Christian but I personally pray to God the Father, God the son Jesus Christ and God the Holy Spirit that's how I always start my prayers and I thank them for how they have changed my life God for all creation, Jesus for been the truth the way and the life and the Holy spirit for being My teacher and friend and teaching me to hate the things I loved which was my sin nature. Because none of yall here have any idea what church he even belongs to. He who says he can reach salvation without the church is trapped in demonic traps of intellectual pride. All of New Testament testifies to the need of every single man and woman to be part of the Holy Church. For only she is holy, here on Earth. And only through her can any soul reach a good verdict at the Great Judgement. No way around the Holy Church. None. Another question: how many souls here has he brought to baptism? That is the primary goal of every bishop. Or, should be. Talking as a man who has been baptizing children and adults alike for many years. I am quite sure both the Holy Bible and the Holy Apostles will agree with me here. Anyways, for me, just another pop televangelist. There have been so many. The true work of a bishop is not seen on social media, it is the baptized souls and souls coming to receive the most holy eucharist every week. Or, every day, ideally. Yes, every day. You do not even know what particular church he is part of. So, no. He did not bring you to the church. Or anyone else. Church matters. A lot. Many feel like us, and what gets me through these tough times is my relationship with Jesus. You don't need to be in church to pray to Jesus, take 5 minutes before bed to share your day with Him. In time you'll find yourself praying for much longer. Pray for your house, your family, your community, your country and the World so that Jesus may fill their hearts. I love all my brothers and sisters in Christ regardless of their denomination. If you place your love and Trust is Jesus, I stand with you

Mari Mari has shed light on so many issues. I have learned a lot from him.

Honestly, the fact that the church is against him, makes me question the church. I was under the impression we were to follow Christ and God's law, not the church's desires. I cant believe the persecution this priest is having, he shares the word of God in a respectful, clear manner, shares his experieneces to guide the others. And the chuchr says he is breaking the rules of the church? the man is basically carrying the church with the teachings of Christ and sharing to the others, letting them to choose whether or not they want to follow Christ the way it should be followed.
