This is incredible. I stumbled upon these teachings of the geography of hope because I had been watching lyla June but over the course of this week KZread has so graciously suggested different speakers. My fathers family are sturgeons without these teachings, the story of his father and siblings being “abandoned” by their mother which led to “some” of them being put in boarding schools-I say these teachings are lost but at the same time they are not. The beginning of this story is so similar to the dreams I was having in 2017/2018.. I am so thankful for each and everyone of these stories and the tellers and the listeners that were present to make this possible for me to hear today, amongst my children-actively listening or not I know the truths will burrow themselves within the depth of their being and the blueprints within them for their children to follow. Thank you all. I recently started playing with English words on paper-as if they were part of those unscramble worksheets I remember from school as a girl-words have always been a gift/passion for me naturally. My favorite word that I pulled out of my last name was “true song” and that is something I would always like to remember to remember. How to be a true song, in ourselves and with each other-what a beautiful song. Song, such a beautiful word which is only one letter from weaving the word sign, the only difference being an i and a round, circular one/whole letter O.

She delivers a beautiful message with lot of good wisdom that many, including me, have ignored and/or forgotten for various reasons of expedience. I'll keep praying for the courage to follow.

What a wonderfull speach. Actually I have startet to talk different about animals since i have read braided sweetgras. For example i dont say "I have seen a fox today" but "I met a fox today".

She's carrying generational trauma, hundreds of years of genocide against her people and their way of life. For them she continues to tell the story in a world that not only outnumbers her, but actively seeks to destroy her. She believes the story and she tells it anyway.

This lady teaches about overconsumption and greed but she herself is overweight. why did i just read her book.

She's a champion of this planet... firstly, she's always been that size, since she has shown us public the pictures of her childhood. secondly in the general population there are obese people who gain weight steadily. and obesity isn't simply caused by eating too much, but eating processed foods which are chemically designed to be sold. There is something called the "Honourable Harvest" and it is the EXACT opposite of westernized global society. In honourable harvest, the creatures we take from, the trees have souls, the animals have souls. This is not simply native american belief, this is belief of all religions, even Christianity before protestantism (600 years ago Christianity). we ask and get permission from each creature.
