MapleStory EU Reboot - Hellux Guide w/ Safe Spot explained
The #1 cause of death is greeding damage. Patience really pays off when you arent nuking this boss.
For P2 specifically, the Safe Spot on the very left edge of the platform can make the boss free to clear. How you are able to utilise the safe spot differs between ranged and melee based classes but the manipulation of his hands attack is just as effective for both types of classes.
P1:
Avoid attacking Gollux from the front as this will often animation lock you and limit your ability to jump/teleport past him. Approach with a gameplan of attacking as you go past him by flashjump attacking / telecasting. Once you land on the other side and are watching him finish his attack in the area you just were, proceed to land some hits on the 'back' of his head. Once his attack ends and he faces you, be ready to rinse repeat. Dont greed extra hits towards the end of his attacks.
P2:
Wiggle your way to the very edge of the platform - just before you fall off, turn to face him for your attacks. You may need to intentionally fall off to properly gauge where the ''edge'' is. Once you are in this spot all of his attacks will either stop - or happen much less frequently for some. The hands attack will completely stop and not reproc if you are in the correct position. The hands stop in this position because you are technically out of range of the attack proccing. However the internal timer for the attack will still always be ready to go once you move towards him - but this is something you can take advantage of.
As the potatoes are something everyone needs to handle, either with summons or attacks, the next step is to walk forwards from the edge by a few character models in width, wait for the hands and drop down to replant the summons or kill that wave of potatoes. You then return to the safe spot as you were doing before.
Rinse and repeat this strategy and you have yourself a very free clear.
To reiterate, this strategy works alot better for classes that have the range to attack from the edge - but melee range classes can still use the edge to ''control'' when his hands appear which will create windows of DPS for you to use as he cannot spam two hands attacks back to back.
You can see in this video the stat / prog of my boss mule so you know Im not just outstatting the boss and with good mechanics and boss knowledge you can lower the bar on your own characters for Hellux clears.

I was able to do it freely with WA, but I can't avoid the area attack that KOs me. Do you have any tips to avoid this? ty
I was able to go through first phase just fine, man but the hand was so annoying, I play Hero with 14k stats and could not stop dying to his platform slam. For my class do you have specific tip? Or can you jump down immediately when seeing the hand? While fighting him if you are trying to hold down the attack key, other movement key seem to not register quick enough….. I wish I could had more practice but this boss is once trial a day only..

You can use Upward Charge to dodge the hand, but it may require some practice to time it right.
Didn't know that, that being said I am playing a melee class, but still very good to know.

Its a little more limited as melee, but you can still make use of it by controlling the hand attack procs to create undisturbed windows of DPS for yourself. :)

for ranged teleporter the boss is even more a punch dummy than chaos zakum, for attack delayed slower warrior it is more annoying than vellum
does the safe spot still work? i keep getting killed phase 2 because the control reverse mechanic but seeing how you do it and just sit in one spot seems OP especially for me as an Archmage I/L. Thanks for the video and thanks in advance!

@ninja no it still works, make sure you are on the very very end of the platform.
It did not help me I have a DA and I arrive with the exceed but the hand still comes out

just died like 4 times in a row trying to up jump with lumi when hand shows up. Honestly idk if it's this jump being slow, cuz i think i react almost immedietely and i get hit and die midair so wanted to check if there are any solutions. Will sure try that next time.

you could try doing a teleport down during the attack if your teleport has enough range

Dodging hands with the up jump in phase 2 is very ping dependent. You just can't see a lot of the windup. You probably just kind of blow up Hellux at this point, but if you don't, try to find the best channels for you and only fight him on those. Or just do hard until you can blow up hellux/I can't imagine any guild in the game doesn't do regular hellux carries with how much you have to fight this boss. If you're like me and don't particularly like getting carried on content you haven't "completed" already, then I would just say that fighting Hellux mostly teaches you how to fight Hellux. These are not the kind of patterns you're going to see later on but turned to 11.
