@@ian-williamfountain608 What the previous commenter was referring to is, back 1833 King Kamehameha the 3rd brought Mexican vaqueros, or cowboys, from California (then part of Mexico) to Hawaii to train Hawaiians to be cowboys. Those Mexican cowboys spoke Spanish, which is where the term “Paniolo” comes from.
