a great choice .... then again, ALL her programs are that. My personal favorite is probably when she skates to "what a wonderful world" - when she goes and shakes the hand of the cameraman, on cue to the lyrics "i see friends shaking hands" ... omg, so adorable! ... My favorite *official* skate of hers is a toss-up between "Bells of Moscow" free program in 2010 and her 2014 Free Program to Rachmaninoff's piano concerto. Both are GENIUS! I think they are her two career best. the bells of moscow skate would have been her crowning achievment had she not caught that ONE EDGE! *GAWD!* so cruel :( she definitely would have won Gold, I believe. Her 2014 Free Program was historic for the first ever triple axel, and I'm glad people will be directed to that gorgeous, sublime performance if they ever want to see that historic jump.

the one and only Mao Asada! She transcends what it is "to BE." 3:03 just look at the astounding amount of ENERGY in her eyes! in her whole body! - as she greets the fans. as any great athlete and/or artist knows - it's all about the fans. It's about love and appreciation and inspiration. .... and performance. Eat your heart out, Yuna Kim. You will never be Mao Asada. Even if you have TWO Gold medals (yes, I realize completely that she should have gotten a second one). ... P.S., I do not dislike Yuna Kim at all; in fact, I love her; but still, Mao Asada transcends even her. It's like Federer being compared to Djokovic.

唯一無二で世界一

I realize this's kinda funny to say about a 3x World champion, Olympic medalist, and icon, but I don't think Mao got enough credit. She was often in Yuna's shadow, though she was often just as brilliant. And she maintained this brilliance -- always trying for the 3A, skating clean more often than other skaters who attempted similar levels of technical difficulty -- for an entire decade.

Believe me, she’s loved by more of us than you think. She won so many medals in her lifetime, who cares if she didn’t win the Olympics. Imo OG is way overrated. Many great skaters didn’t win the OG either like Sacha Cohen, Brian Orser and Michelle Kwan.

She's so much better than Yuna, her artistry is on another level, Yuna was one of the most boring skaters, but she's overrated because of her technique, but technique isn't everything, her spins and spirals were horrible, and don't make me talk about her flat Flip, Mao had a flutz but at least everyone accepts it and it doesn't take away the fact that she was a true artist on ice, but the only good thing about Yuna was her technique and it's not even "perfect", not in all of her jumps, and she couldn't land a single 3A in her entire life. At the end of the day Yuna is just the Queen of 3Lz, but Mao is the Queen of Ice (for me she shares that title with Alina Zagitova, they're the best female skaters I've seen, pure fire)

YEEEES! This is magnificent! why she didn’t used this as her olympic SP ?? A program that she could sell for the judges and earn the pcs she were capable of already at this point of her career.

De hecho hay dos hipótesis; una que es nacido en Uruguay y la otra hipótesis, en Francia. No se sabe cuál es la verdadera ya que son hipótesis, pero lo que sí es seguro es que está nacionalizado como ARGENTINO. Saludos

***** su familia era uruguaya. Nació en Tacuarembó, Uruguay. Lamentablemente acá no triunfó y fue a probar suerte a Argentina. Argentina le dio la bienvenida. Por eso, es por lo cual deben de estar orgullosos.

Its even easier with shoes in a wet floor to keep your butt off the fall. I envy her for being good like that while keeping to whole feet right way. Great knees great balance but her semblance is unique. Mao Asada mesmerized me

amazing! Does ANYONE today live up to this?? What finish and refinement! Originality as well. The tautness and precision and stretch of the best acrobat with the elegance and grace of the finest of dancers. This is how it used to be. Now it's all about the jumps and what's in between much more weak and sloppy. So they compensate with all sorts of silly acting. Totally debunks the idea that now FS is more advanced than it used to be. Ha! Not in overall quality, that's for sure.

comment The Mao-Yuna rivalry/Vancouver era was the pinnacle of Ladies skating. Literally the only skater I like right now is Mariah Bell, and she's obviously not in the Mao-Yuna league
